It seems like work on the Broadstone Riverhouse progresses at a snails pace.

^ Yeah; I'd say it's going at a rate of about 3 Ikeas/Broadstone right now.

The Loop in the old Pier 17 location needs to have some courtesy slips at Sadler Marina for boat customers to come to the restaurant. I know we've been waiting for them to open.

Great to hear lots of great new stuff and creative re-use going on in Springfield but some promising projects seem to be hopelessly stuck in the mud. I heard that the holdup on the development of the old Pearl nightclub was partly due to a change of plans and the owner recently giving birth but what's up with the delays on Crispy's. The renovations appeared to be going on at a good pace but suddenly late last year there was nothing and no updates. Any word on any problems or if this will ever come to fruition a la Laverneus Cole's proposed nightclub in the Elbow?

There's been some decent progress on Crispy's.  It looks like it will be completed in the near future.

Crispy's looks really, really, really nice inside. He's doing a top notch job, and SPAR just awarded him a matching grant to help install a new awning. Google it.

1st & Main has had a bunch of interested parties, none have been the right fit for the owner thus far. It's available for lease.

As someone who has become somewhat of a regular at Hyperion and Social Grounds, I can confirm that work has not stalled at Crispy's. Just in the past month, there have been a lot of changes. From the outside looking in, it looks to be just about finished. I have no idea how long it takes to get a kitchen and staff going, but that appears to be all that is left to do.

The one I'm curious about is the Cookbook. I thought it was finished and supposed to open months ago. Anybody know what is up with it?

^ has to comply with COJ code & permitting. I believe he's been trying to address those, while being used for private events in the meantime.

I'm glad to hear that Crispy's is definitely moving forward so thanks for the news. Didn't mean to shine a negative light on the project and I haven't been able to roll by the area in a year and the Facebook updates ceased suddenly so your updates are much appreciated.

So much coming to fruition not just in Springfield - high population growth and home construction, lowering unemployment, Barnett and LST coming closer to reality, the fight for the Landing's soul, proposals for ambitious core residential projects, the influx of higher paying financial sector jobs...Party like it's 2006, anyone?

What's scary about that is trying to figure out what 2007 is about to look like.
