It did but it's already been approved.
The "Violated Orange Tree" Lady did have an issue with it, but they came to an agreement.

Not to worry, it is already a big stink. But for people like Uncle Frank who owns the lot next to it for Bluefish and the Bluefish building, the value of the properties has gone through the roof. Yeah, parking stinks, but meters or timed parking is not far off from Avondale.
And now Crave is about to close at the other end, look for another 100 seat restaurant to go in soon, due to the Jim Love "I make more money off of Automobiles crashing into one another"'s overlay.

Took my out of town relatives to lunch in Avondale a few months ago. We had to park 1 block deep and 2 blocks over on the residential streets. The distance isn't an issue so much as having to park in front of a persons house. That's a bit of a problem.

Can you expand on this? Why do you consider that a bit of a problem?
Because we were taking up spaces typically reserved for private citizens. Street parking by patrons in front of a home that is on a mixed residential/commercial street is one thing but street parking by patrons in front of a home that is wholly residential is different. It means there is not enough parking for patrons in the business segment.

That's just part of being in a vibrant urban neighborhood, not designed for every household to store multiple vehicles and every visitor to arrive by car. It's pretty much this way in places like Winter Park, South Beach, Ybor, Virginia-Highlands (Atlanta), the Fan (Richmond), etc.

I live around Post and King and have people park in front of my house frequently. If I am outside when it happens, people will typically ask if it is all right. I obviously do not have a say in the matter, or care that they park there, but I think a lot of people feel uncomfortable about it in Jax.
People who complain about people parking on street in front of their house are the best. Somehow they own that curb. I could understand that it might be annoying to have a ton of cars on your street if you live a block off of St. Johns or King St. They're there for the same reason those people probably moved to those streets. If no one parked there the restaurants wouldn't be there. Can't have your cake and eat it too...

Most people have no issue, its the people parking who are absolute morons. There is such a thing as a driveway apron and you are not to park in the apron, so that the resident can pull out of the driveway without an obstruction. However, people are terrible at driving and worse at parking and do not check to make sure they are not in the right of way on top of the apron.
I live on Talbot and have a neighbor who is fussy about having "his" parking spot. He put pavers all the way to the street so clearly every one should know regular right of way rules don't apply. Anyway I just like to give him a hard time. I can't wait for the new spot to open up so I can walk over and park in one of those seats.
