Hey All! I won a bet and will be treated to one juicy hamburger and all of the french fries I can eat by Tad!
I have been trying to do my research. My current top four are:
Five Guys Hamburgers
BurgerFi
M-Shack
Ruby Tuesday's
What other jewels of j'town am I missing??? I would be open to trying something new!
Glenn, I know you're in the Town Center area. Can't go wrong the Loop either.
What was the bet?
M Shack by far.

Tad told me that if I came to his neck of the woods in The Riverside so he didn't have to drive I could pick the lunch spot and if it took me longer than 30 minutes to get there, he would buy me a hamburger! It took 37 minutes and I picked Wendy's for lunch but said I wanted to really think about where to get the perfect hamburger!!!! 8)
I didn't even think about The Loop :o :o :o
It is all about the best burger and the best fries KenFromFSU :P The Loop does have one juicy burger, but big ol soggy steak fries! >:(
Funwithteeth I am leaning towards the M Shack. Tots or fries though that's the biggest question :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
I drove out to Atlantic Beach last weekend specifically for a Col. Mustards Phat Burger. Was not disappointed.
I've heard Poe's is good, too, but didn't want to deal with the brunch crowd, and someone else suggested that I try out Graffiti.
Epik Burger is definitely a place you want to try out - in your neck of the woods even.
You've asked the question, and you're going to get different answers from everyone who responds.
Good luck.
Poe's.
I love cruisers, amazing cheddar fries too.

Personally, I like a really good burger but it is actually far down my list of food priorities so I must admit I havent tried that many.
I've enjoyed burgers at many places, but my favorite to this day in Jax was Jolly Mon's at Bold City (RIP) I recently had an awesome burger at Black Sheep, and it was so great that I had it again a week later. They actually make it medium rare too.
Five Guys has to be the most overrated burger joint by far. No tasted whatsoever. I like The Loop, Poe's, Cruiser's.
Black Sheep and Poes

I can vouch for Graffiti Junktion, they made good burgers.

Try the Hermosa Beach burger at Jimmy Hula's. I frequent the one at Atlantic and Hodges. Live music on Fridays.
The Loop!
The Southern Burger at Blind Rabbit is my favorite.
Taverna or Olio have the best fries in town. I've had the Taverna burger and it's fantastic, but have not tried the burger at Olio.
The Federal Reserve Bank grill. But good luck getting in.
Blind Rabbit
Black Sheep
Col Mustards

Olio's burger and fries are in my top 5.
Also, I forgot to mention earlier that Uptown Kitchen has a great burger.
1. Harpoon Louie's
2. Chomp Chomp
3. Blind Rabbit
4. Poe's
5. Shack Maui
6. Colonel Mustard's
7. Pinegrove
8. Olio
^ Shack Maui's burger can be awesome, but they are very inconsistent when it comes to cooking to the proper temperature.
I had an amazing patty melt from the Bubba Burgers food truck.
I've never got a bubba burger from the store to taste that good.
Whataburger.

I love bubba burgers. I put them on the grill and when they start to defrost I pour some Intuition People's Pale Ale or I-10 on them, then I flip them and right before I put swiss cheese on I pour more beer on and salt and pepper.

How does he feel about that?
So...no votes for Hamburger Mary's?
I'd expect more than a few, based on the amount of coverage that place got on this website over the past couple of years.
^ I've been to Hamburger Mary's once and while the burger tasted okay, it was way overcooked.
Glenn, got an update?
Milk Tad for all he's worth!

I tried them once. Many of the places mentioned in this thread make a superior burger.
Derby on Park's Steakburgers are awesome.
I honestly wish some of these places had been around when I was still a carnivore. I love a good burger. I've had Cruisers and the Loop, of course - and both were pretty good. I quite like a Loop burger.
Any recommendations for a good veggie burger? Smashburger does a decent black bean thing - I had that last summer when I was visiting my folks in Sarasota.

Tad left with a hurt stomach and a hurt wallet! 8)
It was no easy choice but I decided on The M Shack! Tad begged me to come to the one in The Riverside but I said no Tad, you come to the Town Center! ;D ;D ;D
I started with the the toughest decision of the night, tots or fries! I went with the Totchos! Golden tots drizzled with crispy bacon bits, warm ranch and a generous amount of cheddar cheese!!! I finished them and all but licked the platter and held up one finger to Tad and said now it is time for the main course!!! I got the Swamp Burger. Covered in crisp dill pickles, swiss cheese, fresh brisket and soaked in tangy bbq sauce! :o :o :o :o
I finished things off with a marshmallow brûlée shake and slurped until I hit the bottom of the cup!!!! :o :o :o :o
I can't wait to try the next burger place!!!!!!!!!!!
