This is great... now we just need to get the law changed...

Exactly! A distillery is no fun if I can't go drink there and enjoy the atmosphere, or even buy multiple bottles!

They are currently going through some internal issues.  One of the founders has been MIA, so he either has to buy an equity stake (which he can't afford) or leave.  A lot of internal strife has stalled their ability to come to market.  They are lucky to have Klempf supporting them.

Yeah, I was going to say: I went to their (unfortunately named by Al Emerick (which, LOL)) "Badass Men's Whiskey Night" like two years ago and, as an attempt to raise capital, it was uninspiring at best.

MMR, I hadn't heard about this. Supposing you donated to the project, what did you get in return?

I'm always skeptical of fundraising for private business. Things like Intuition's Mug Club is cool (the donors received something tangible in return), but the Distillery isn't exactly a non-profit.

Hopefully some changes will be made to the law this year. Here is the relevant pending senate bill: https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2017/0166/?Tab=BillText

Then Al Emerick made a VERY off color comment at the end that I found offensive and even had some people audibly gasping,

Looks good. They have a timetable on getting this done?

I'm not in love with the site plan, specifically the on-site parking separating it from Forest St. The rendering above makes it look like the building is up against Forest but it isn't. Do the 10 spots really make a difference, especially with the cul-de-sac and the ability to do on-street around the thing?

On the other hand, it's a historic building (not a new build). It was the road that moved which created this "setback". They also have a huge argument that can't be objected to, and that's the POS Gate design that was approved two blocks away.

I'd probably let this fly, but even some outdoor seating would be better than the surface lot there.
