I worked with one of the slackers in the black kids back in the day.
The managers would always yell at Mr. Youngblood to get off the "idle board' at work (this tv monitor that would display your name if you weren't answering home security alarms at this call center) ((god that job sucked!))
Guess he showed them.
Take that ADT home security systems!
See people? there is hope in the Jacksonville scene.
I know I know, i'm being all "oh oh oh i know that guy because they're popular now even though i've only talked to him like 12 times over 8 years "
Sue me. It's not often we have a band blow up that didn't get its start from planet radio. Last time I saw him was at Mossfire, we were discussing how weird it was that Pearl was having a pudding wrestling contest....(puddling wrestling seems so Orange Park, ya know?) They were chilling on the 2nd floor patio acting the same as they ever were.
All stolls down memory lane aside, you know if they truly get big they'll forget Jacksonville faster than Fred Durst can say "rollin rollin rollin rollin!" :'(

why is that? the guys I know from NJ who made it big, semi big and almost big never seem to forget their roots
I'm just being cynical. Hopefully they won't.

I know why! The people of New Jersey have an insane amount of state pride for some reason. I've spent the last 10 years befriending a many transplants from the garden state.
Jacksonville is in a way like New Jersey, overshadowed by bigger & flashier regions that seem to flank it on all sides. The only difference
is, they dont know they suck ;D They are actually proud of where they're from.
I can't do it! I can't be that mean. Besides, I don't want to bring on the wrath of a Jersey transplant.
