Tennessee's front four is one of the AFC's best.
With Buffalo and Indy up next, you can't afford to go 0-3. Not impossible to recover from, but very difficult nonetheless.
They need Porter to return quickly to give Garrard a threatening target to hit when teams blitz the whole defense at him.
If teams blitz the whole defense, Garrard should be able to hit anyone, he doesn't need Porter. I think Tennessee got a lot of pressure, as you say, because their front for is one of the best, blitzes notwithstanding.
Anyway, Manuwai and Williams were both potential pro-bowlers imo. This sucks big time. Players will have to step up at all positions.

yeah, no Super Bowl appearance this year. Still - we should have a winning record I would hope. What was it? Like 3 years ago that we had all those injuries and finished 8-8??
I wouldn't write off any Super Bowl possibility entirely, but it's very doubtful. The impact of these injuries remains to be seen...the road will be much tougher now but if playmakers emerge then we could still be contenders. Then again, if the o-line falls apart or suffers more injuries, we could easily fall below .500 on the season.
BTW, the 8-8 year was two years ago. But I think many would say we really should have done better that year, despite the injuries.

You'll never know what might happen,,but I still think the Jaguars as a team still like the discipline they need to be an elite team on both sides of the ball in order to win a SB. Will be interesting to see how this seasons folds. In DEC where will the Jags be??

Unfortunately, Porter is supposed to be our deep threat, but it's going to be hard to throw deep when you only have two seconds. Without a solid line, we wont be able to run or pass effectively. The only thing that we can do well is screen plays if the defensive line over-commits. This is my first year with season tickets, so I hope we can win some games.
If it were not for the very precarious nature of fan support in Jacksonville, I would whole-heartedly agree with what I am about to say rather than just suggest it.... IF these problems with our line turn out as we suspect, and the high expectations for this season are not to be, what good is going 8-8? I mean, really.. where is the moral victory in that? Again, this is predicated on the fact that our fans would actually still support the team instead of staying home and pouting, I would much rather go 3-13 than 7-9. 7-9 is still a bad season. We aren't the Texans. We have had success. There is no joy in "oohhh... almost." We have plenty of cap room and a lot of young talent to go with our veterans. Give me the 2nd or 3rd pick in next years draft. Give me the opportunity to add one more superstar caliber player to the roster. It would give an opportunity to add to the already solid foundation of younger players (Ingram, Durant, Smith, Nelson, Lewis, Jones-Drew, hopefully Harvey and Groves, etc.) and ensure when we dont have a rash of horribly unlucky injuries, we will be competitive for years to come. I pray we get it together and go to the playoffs... just proposing a silver lining if it turns out we stink.

Peter King seems to still have faith in us. Maybe he doesn't realize how dire the situation is on our o-line...but I'll remain optimistic and then reconsider once this brutal first month is over.
I just hope the Jags prove me wrong,,the next couple of games will tell the story.

I am sure he does. But look around the AFC. Tom Brady and Shawn Merriman out for the season, the Colts lose at home to Chicago, Cleveland gets blown out at home. The Jags aren't the only team with problems in the AFC.
