Title: St. Johns Ave. Closure
Post by: DetroitInJAX on August 25, 2008, 11:25:10 PM
Just read a blurb in the T-U about St. Johns being closed between Edgewood and Glendale for some infrastructure improvements until OCTOBER... That stretch of the road obviously includes the shoppes. What do the business owners think about this?  How will one access "downtown" Avondale during all this?

Google Earth is such a wonderful thing!  LoL

Come down Riverside to Ingleside?  Looks like Ingleside runs perpendicular to St. Johns.

Luckily there's a grid pattern there to allow multiple entrances to that immediate area.  If not for that, it would be more of a problem than it already will probably be.  Sucks that they have to shut down such a large swatch of the road.  Will it all be shut down at once or would they do it in sections/phases?  I'd be pretty upset if I were a business owner there.  I already know my semi-regular trips to Biscotti's and the Brick will be affected by this.   :-\
