On February 4th, 1968; a 10 year old boy was found deceased in the 3700 block of Mayflower St. in Jacksonville; in the Murray Hill area.
That little boy was my little brother, Glen Davenport.
Glen had been reported missing to the police the night before. Family, friends, and neighbors searced for Glen throughout the night. One of the many places searched was that lot in the 3700 block of Mayflower St. The last search of that lot was at 4:00 a.m. Glen was not there during any of the searches; not even the last search at 4:00 a.m.
But then a few hours later, Glen's body was found there on that lot.
For his body to not be there during any of the searches and then be found there just a few short hours after the final search can only mean that someone put Glen or his body there sometime after the last search at 4:00 a.m.
Despite this; and the many other suspicous things about Glen's death; his death was determined and ruled to be "accidental".
40 years later, Glen's family is still seeking and fighting for justice for him.
There is now a youtube video; with a few of the details and a plea from my family for the people of Jax to watch this video and a plea to help us get a cold case opened for Glen.
Since my family no longer lives in Jax, we are asking the people of Jax to watch this video and then pass it along to others in Jax.; particularly in the Murray Hill area.
It is our hope that there are still people in Jax who remember the news story about the little boy who was found "hanging" on Mayflower St. in 1968.
And it is our hope that there is still someone who may have seen or heard something on the night Glen was missing (Feb. 3rd) or the next morning when his body was found (Feb. 4th); 1968.
We still cling to the hope that someone can provide new information about Glen's death.
