Subject: Tenure of elected officials.

Dear Brother Hunt:

The survival of Jacksonville, Florida is dependent upon quality leadership.  Our elected officials in my opinion is totally unqualified to lead us in the future.   It is time for the citizens of this town to face the reality that the Mayor, Sheriff and  City Councilman  in some part are incompetent.  All of them should be "Recalled".  The results speaks for themselves.  The City Councilman is nothing more than a "Rubber Stamp Committee" that is giving away our hard earned tax dollars to the Mayor and Sheriff for failed political leadership.  The current crisis in Crime and Murder is wake up call.  None of these officials have an answer to our present problems.  Nor are they smart enough to seek information from all corners of this community who may have a solution.  I call their decision process " Insidious Ancestral Indifference".  Our current elected officials can not handle the heat of leadership.  It is  time for them to go.  If we fail to get rid of them our future as a multi- cultural international City will not be realized.  The good ole boys must make room for the best and brightest regardless of ethnicity.

His letter would carry more weight if his grammar were better, in my opinion.

I wholeheartedly agree with his assessment.  These, and past Jax administrations, have held this City back from progressing to its full potential.  It's up to the citizens to ensure that they elect the right candidate for the job (even though may lie or are putting up a front), and, if they don't do the job, fire them!

I do not whole heartedly agree.  At this point a recall is wasteful... both in time and money.  I do not agree that they are incompetant.  Slow, ponderous, unimaginative... many adjectives may apply but incompetant is not one.  He states that "None of these officials have an answer to our present problems".  Neither does he.  He also implies that racism is part of the reason these elected officials have failed.  While racism amongst individuals may exist it is certainly not a guiding force in these institutions...

Throw the bums out next election... Yes.  Recall... no.
