"Riverside could be gaining another restaurant and rooftop bar.
Owners of the Summit Tower at 1000 Riverside Ave. want to rezone the property to accommodate a first-floor restaurant and a bar on the ninth floor.
The name is the River & Post Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, although managing partner Jeff McCusker is not ready to share a lot of details, pending zoning and other approvals."

Heard about this. Should be smooth sailing towards approval. Another great addition to the area.
That would have one hell of a view.
^^^agreed
It's exciting to hear about this. Every time I'm at the Burrito Gallery in Brooklyn or the roof of Black Sheep, I wonder why there aren't more restaurants and bars that take advantage of the temperate climate and amazing views that can be had from rooftops in the area.

Hoptinger and Cowford will have rooftop bars.
My questions is is there really going to be enough parking for the restaurant during the day.
Otherwise 2017 is really looking good for new and ongoing projects all over the core.

I know of about 2,000 people who might be interested in walking over for lunch. Other than a couple sandwich shops (Jimmy John's, Johnny's, and Akel's deli), and the cummer, this will be the closest restaurant for a few thousand employees on Riverside Ave. If they do a good job, I'm sure they will draw a lot of foot traffic.

Burger Fi, Zoes, BG, Brixx, Hobnob, whatever goes into old Corner Bakery, Fresh Market? I'd be a little more worried about this location being successful since it is basically all out by itself.
^Other than Hob Nob, all the restaurants you listed are farther away for Black Knight, FIS, 121 Financial, Vystar, Red Cross.... Etc. Additionally, at that point you only have to walk across a Riverside Ave that is only 3 lanes wide as opposed to 6 lanes.

There is already an 80 space parking lot at the building that isn't used after 5PM or on weekends.

Terrible name and some decisions for this place have me questioning how successful this place will be. I could very easily be completely off the mark, but from what I have read and heard, it reeks of: "Oooooh, that Riverside neighborhood is a hot spot, let's do a restaurant."
Possibly, but I've been to many restaurants across the country with a good view that make it in spite of their terrible execution.

My gosh man. Do you have anything remotely positive to say about any development in this City?
Nice views

This will be a nice addition to neighborhood. I suspect that they will get a nice boost in business during the week with the businesses in the area. Now, if we can just get a hotel in the neighborhood. We will be all set.
Can't wait for this. What a view.

I think one thing that would help with a hotel is a fixed transit system through Brooklyn. This would then connect Riverside/Brooklyn with places like the new cancer center, Wolfson, and the other DT/SB areas. Brooklyn has some sites that could easily do this (T/U, YMCA, N of 200 Riverside) That area would be good for a Marriott branded hotel as DT/SB is void of any Marriott brands, but needs transit so it is "part of DT".

Agreed! I have multiple vendors that come to visit my office each month. They mostly stay at hotels near the Southbank.
Any chance the Even Hotel plan will pop back up next to 220 Riverside?
Are there any plans for the lot between the YMCA and Riverside Ave. where the old YMCA was? It seems like a great place for a hotel.
^It's being marketed for sale.
You mean the lot they just put a new parking lot on?

I think 200 Riverside (or whatever the new name is) will break ground first. Still waiting on that dirt to turn.

Correct - still for sale.
I believe EVEN is dead.
