Title: Map of the World's Billionaires
Post by: spuwho on January 04, 2017, 02:30:43 PM
Interesting mix of how one "earned" their money. Contrast the US vs. Russia vs. Germany vs. China.

It'll be interesting to see the percentages in the US after Trump & the GOP repeal the estate tax.

Interesting comparing the various percentages of different countries.  USA seems pretty evenly divided...

Today was Fat Cat Wednesday.

By lunchtime today, FTSE 100 bosses earned as much as the average worker would earn in an entire year.

Here lies the problem, wealth is distributed on a short term basis driven by what others 'think' the value is. As long as you can maintain the perception of value (as opposed to creating "real" value) you will always be able to collect like a fat cat.

QuoteIt comes as no surprise to learn that return on invested capital is not the preferred measure of most remuneration committees. They prefer short-term indicators, such as shareholder return and earnings per share. The report's authors detected "a material disconnect between pay and fundamental value generation".

Remember that there was no private property in Russia prior to the dissolution of the USSR.

Now if only they would bring their companies and money back to the USA from low corporate tax countries such as Ireland.

Or Russia, for that matter. Or most countries, including such bastions of Euro-socialism as the Nordics and the UK.
