The small parcel in question (628 Duval) has 26.5 feet of frontage on Duval Street and is 100 feet deep. Its a mid block location with no vehicular access to the rear of the property and is less than a block from the new proposed courthouse site. Its ideal for any urban pioneers out there looking to get their feet wet with a small project or urban residence.

No vision? I'm just getting back from the Northeast. Its amazing what you can squeeze on lots this size. With the lot only being 26' wide, I don't think its wide enough to use for parking, unless all you want is two or three spaces. However, its perfect for an urban condo/apartment or two.
But what if we painted it to look like a rooftop, so when you're flying directly above it looks like a building. Wait, never mind, it will have all of those cars on it.
Maybe it should be painted to look like a black hole...

Its a piece of grass lot with the car parked in the back, on the other side of the fenced grass lot.
I am not trying to be a contrarian, but developers are not exactly beating down the doors to build highrises downtown right now. Having said that, I would prefer to see the City just auction these things off to the highest bidder at this time rather than do an RFP for a parking lot.
Lake, as I read the posting above, it is calling for an RFP for a parking lot, or is it simply stating that its currently being used as a parking lot. Or, is it as simple as, its expected to be used as a parking lot for the building on Broad?
DP, its confusing. 324 Broad does not have off-street parking, so using 628 Duval for parking does make since if its directly associated with 324 Broad. Personally, I see more value in 628 Duval alone. Ideally, its a small plot of land that should be cheaper to purchase and build something new on, as opposed to renovating 324 Broad. Furthermore, the site's dimensions are conductive for use as a parking lot, unless one of the landowners next door would be willing to sell their parcel to combine the two. I'm going to contact the city and see if I can find out more information about this upcoming RFP.

because the city is bankrupt of leadership. I don't care if the present property is a mile square boulevard set aside for the collection of cat litter. The last damn thing downtown needs is another parking space.
In fact, the city should be heavily fining and penalizing all of the surface parking lots to see if we can provide some incentive to build something on the lot that isnt a net loss to the owner.
