Let us not forget the sacrifices made on December 7, 1941.

If we're going to have a post about Pearl Harbor, can the video not be from the movie? I feel that to be disrespectful to both those who died and who survived.
How about the live video from the 75th Anniversary Remembrance Day Ceremony.....

No disrespect was intended obviously as it is a Hollywood representation. It was merely to highlight that this day is unique in US history and changed our lives, our economy, our policies and our perception of the world.
Having shown my respects at the Arizona personally, I cant think of anything I can do that can represent the loss. I can only raise awareness.
I've paid my respects as well when we pulled into there on port while I was on deployment. I just think there are far better ways to raise awareness about Pearl Harbor than using the historically inaccurate movie.
This video was released a few days ago by the U.S. Pacific Fleet of the Navy.

I am partial to Dorie Miller (hence the video), awarded the Navy Cross for bravery at Pearl Harbor.
I didnt care much for the movie personally and it wasnt meant to be a docu-drama.
I just liked that they had something that reflected on Dorie's service, even if was a little dramatized.

While he survived the sinking of the USS West Virginia, he went and served 2 more years in the Navy before dying in combat. A true American.
