Here's some news that should put a smile on the face of bicycle and pedestrian advocates. After years of delays, construction is underway on a long overdue multi-use path between downtown and Springfield. Here's a look at where it will go and at the work that has been done so far.

This is very encouraging - that stretch of parks has so much untapped potential.
A question I have regards contamination. My understanding is there a lot it around the creek that will need to be resolved at some point. Is that the case, and if so would the city have to re-do these paths?
And from what I can see, parts of it are in the current flood zone for the parks which will make it unusable after most rains.
Also look for the reinstatement of the kayak launch logo on Hogans Creek instead of the No Trespassing sign after attending the 12/6/16 Maritime Management Plan meeting and the 12/7/16 FIND subcommittee meeting of the Jacksonville Waterways Commission and the Public participation to make the decision makers aware of this existing Public Access oversight.
