Jax metro will be getting 2 of 100 IMAX screens in a partnership between IMAX and AMC. Wish one of them was downtown though :( Opens September 2008

Bay Street Station will include a cinema along with an IMAX screen.
This doesn't help the WGV.

Man, that is some refreshing news. The IMAX at WGV is a huge anchor and, IMO, is the biggest reason there is any breath of life after 8:00 PM. I've always wondered why Jax had not built an IMAX yet.
I saw the signs this weekend when I went to go see The Dark Knight at the OP AMC and was quite elated.
I wanted to see it at the IMAX out here at WGV (yes, i live in Riverside but work all the way out here) but when i checked last Tuesday all shows were sold out through the weekend. 2 more IMAX theatres will be GREAT!
Not very carbon neutral of you, JC. ;)
Trust me, I know. I want to work Downtown SO BAD!!!!
Is the Orange Park IMAX open yet?
I think they both were open this weekend according to the TU
Anyone going to see Eagle Eye: The IMAX Experience, starring Shia Lebouf at one of our new IMAX theaters this weekend? It's only $3 more than regular ticket price (LoL). I can't wait, but then again, I'm a movie nerd. :) Movie looks really good from the previews.

LOVE the Leboeuf
