Sure, every candidate has a basket of deplorables on their side.
The difference between HC and DT, only one candidate flipped their basket over and stood on it as their soapbox.
DT's core base is motivated by deplorability. I don't think you can say the same for HC's supporters.
Clearly, Hillary is the better candidate - more qualified, more centrist, a better temperament. I think the article is stating that there is suspicion on both sides of how strongly she will fight for the middle class and keeping it strong because that is the one issue common to both sides.
