"...and who would you rather be on the road with? A drunk person or a stoned person? I would take a stoned person any day!"

Who would you rather drive school buses full of kids in the morning? A drunk person or a stoned person?

False Dilemma.

I'd rather be on and share the road with a person who is not distracted and certainly not under the influence of any substances.

I don't think you're helping any cause by including statements like this. Is the idea that if marijuana is legalized then we'll have less drunk drivers and more stoned drivers? Or will we have the same amount of drunk drivers plus stoned drivers?

There is a lot of contextual information missing in this video about the history of cannabis prohibition. Also, they present the idea of cannabis being moved to Sched 2 as a good thing. In fact if cannabis were Sched 2, it would be even more tightly controlled than it is now. The FDA would then be able to say: only pharmaceutical companies are allowed to produce medical cannabis and its extracts. The pharms would probably only then produce pure THC pharmaceuticals, which by the way are already available at Sched 2 (see: Marinol). Cannabis consists of over 100 cannabinoids. All of which have unique roles.

I wonder if Meredith is asking the photographer why he only took a single photo for use here, that captured her with her eyes closed.

Not to be a complete dick, but what makes Twachtman/O'Malley qualified to talk about medical marijuana (these sound like some pretty in-depth issues, no?). I mean, besides being a stoner and all  ;D

Lol.  Well they are actually talking about the current local politics of legalization, rather than medical marijuana, and I suppose they are qualified enough to speak to that.

They are both founding members of the Young Voters Coalition, and Jack (besides being one of the more interesting and conversational people in the city) is a musician and entrepreneur.  He is one of the owners of Brew in Five Points, among many other projects.

If you haven't been to Brew, btw, check it out.  I switched there about two years ago.

Yeah, didn't mean it personally...I've never actually met Jack but I know 'of' him (who doesn't if you live in Riverside?). I'm sure they're both qualified to talk about a lot of things - in the most general sense ;)

As for Brew, you're killing me. You do realize how close I am to Bold Bean, right?!

I am sure Stephen or someone will else will fix the omission of Meredith's complete name in the title, but MJ subscribers should know her name is Meredith O'Malley Johnson and she is really cool and we are blessed to have her in our great city. She may not always agree with her, but you learn to respect her views, as she has some good ones and would love to see her reach for higher office.

She is a good one here in Jax!

I can't disagree with that.

No beard, but I have tattoos. So there's that.

So assuming amendment 2 is passed, I'm curious how long it will take until an amendment for legalization is brought up. 5 states are on the ballot this year and it seems it's taken most of them at least 5-10  years for it to happen. However, a touristy state like California will no doubt reap the benefits financially, so hopefully Florida takes notice.
