Another new brewery is working to open on Main Street, just a block away from Hyperion Brewing Co.
Main & Six Brewery. Read up:

Nice. I had heard about another looking in the area. It's great to see the interest in Main finally picking up again.
The interest in Main is the most encouraging news about Springfield's redevelopment in a long time. Glad to hear it.

Some momentum will go a long way...

Main & Six Brewing has begun work on their space and has put up temporary signage.
Exciting times for Main Street. I look forward to seeing what Main, between 6th and 9th, looks like in another year.
Fantastic news. Even a few of the announced projects would be transformative.
Any update on Crispy's?
Walked by Main and Six today. It looks like their furniture was delivered in the past day or so.
Here's an update:

Looks like we'll be drinking there in about a month - the renderings look sharp.
looks like a Burrito Gallery. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I checked this place out last night. They are serving mostly their own beer. I tried four of them and enjoyed them all. The Big Jim and Uncle Ben in particular are fantastic. My only complaint is the noise level, but the owner said they are working on getting some noise dampening. I highly recommend checking it out. It's a nice walk down the street from Hyperion if you are up for two breweries.
Fyi - the owners recently purchased the building directly nextdoor, as well.
It's been used for storage with no activity for many years.
They plan to renovate it and lease to a biz complimentary to the brewery.
^Thanks for the updates.
Just 2 years later, Main & 6 is expanding: roof top bar, event space & more brewing capacity.

They just hired Alex Leuthold away from Intuition. I know he was a big part of that operation, so that's a pretty big deal.
Great to hear. One of my favorite spots, and Dennis is a helluva guy.
Pretty cool!

Isn't this the second person they've lured away from Intuition? Or at least the second person from another local brewer? IIRC, scuttlebutt was that they'd already gotten someone from around here previously... ?

Not sure about that. I did talk to Alex's brother Riley Leuthold (manager of the Posting House) on Friday about the project. He said the remodel is in adjacent space and so operation will not be affected during construction. The space was purchased a couple years ago with the expectation of expansion. Good business strategy and kudos to them.
(sorry if this was all mentioned in the damn business journal article that is hidden behind a ridiculous pay wall)
Main & Six is moving forward with their planned expansion:

Great news!
QuoteMain & Six Brewing Company plans an expansion that would bring another dining option to Springfield and the neighborhood's first rooftop bar.
Owner Dennis Espinosa said he and his mother, co-owner Cindy Lasky, want to renovate a 3,600-square-foot building next to the brewery and connect the two. That space will house a restaurant, kitchen, barrel aging room and restrooms.
He will add a 2,000-square-foot rooftop space above the addition. The rooftop beer garden will be about 500 square feet. There also will be office space on the second floor.
In addition, he will add a 100-square-foot outdoor patio and pave the adjacent lot for parking.
The expansion will bring Main & Six's total space to about 7,200 square feet at 1636 N. Main St.
