I am frickin' excited! I drove down Rosselle last weekend to see if I could figure out where the place would be, but didn't see it. I'll check it out again this week now that we know the address.
Idea for the taphouse: Do a "mug club" - offer a set amount (lets say 50) of oversized beer mugs that you can sell for a one-time fee of $20 each or so, then every time someone that bought a mug comes in, they get to drink an oversized beer for the same price as a regular beer.
Nice idea Tree!
I bet you Bold City guys get all giddy seeing that shiny new stainless steel brewery equipment. ;D
It's true, we do. I think we stood there for about 20 minutes in silence after they were taken from the truck.
Good idea Tree. I think it's something that we could get going.
what are the four staple beers planned? An IPA included I hop(e)?

Hey Xian,
Staples are below.
Pale Ale
Red Ale
White Ale
Rye IPA
We will also be doing a DIPA (Double IPA) as a seasonal that may become a staple if it catches on.
This seems like it will be an AWESOME place and a much welcomed addition to Riverside.
I'm ready! After reading about Inbev buying AB, give me the local stuff all day long.................I hope some of the area establishments that offer variey are smart enough to pick up a local brew as well (Jax municipal, Mellow Mushroom, etc.).
If the local establishments didn't take on the local brew, they'd be morons....

I had heard the rumors of the sale of the past few weeks but when I heard the actual sale price of AB I was floored. The news reported something like $50 billion! Is that right?
Johnny, I agree. The other local establishments need to all jump aboard.
QuoteAnheuser-Busch being sold to InBev for $52B
By AOIFE WHITE and CHRISTOPHER LEONARD
BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) â€" The maker of the King of Beers has agreed to go to work for the Belgian brewer InBev SA.
Anheuser Busch Cos. said early Monday it had agreed to a sweetened $52 billion takeover bid from InBev, creating the world's largest brewer and heading off what was shaping up as an acrimonious fight for the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light beers. Inbev brands include Stella Artois, Beck's and Bass.

It will be interesting to see how the aquisition plays out among the hardcore AB supporters. I also wonder what will become of Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Aquatica.
That tap room looks awesome. I hope to come up from school sometime this fall to have a taste of that red ale. I'm so excited to have this in the area. Is there going to be a grand opening??

Becks Sea WORLD... Stella Gardens... ahhh... maybe Stella Sea World and Becks Gardens... ;D
And don't forget Basstica...
Yes, there will be a grand opening.
I like the idea of a "mug club", specially since I collect beers glasses.
Another thought, some craft brewers out there (Stone, Dogfish Head, etc) have growlers you can buy and have filled @ discounted prices. I would love to buy a 3 liter Growler, and have it filled on a semi-weekly basis.
More than anything I am stoked that I can spend my beer dollars for locally created goods, instead of buying online and at Euro Street. AND that 4 outta 4 of your taps are pourin ALES!!! I can't stand that fizzy yellow water most companies are passing for lager, let alone beer. OH yeah, and can't wait to cut into a Rye IPA, sounds awesome.
Anywho, wlecome to the neighborhood Bold City Brews! ;D

Hey Friend,
We will have growlers as well, 64oz. We actually got to go to Stone @ the Craft Brewers Conference and it was INSANE! They basically let you go anywhere you wanted to. We'll have 12 taps and all 12 will have ales.
How about a recipe contest for the homebrewers in Jax? You could feature the winning beer on tap or in bottles (if you end up bottling). Maybe incorporate some local art work like the winery in St. Augustine has done in the past. It could be a great way to get local beer lovers and artists involved with the brewery!
Plus I think I already have the winning recipie :D
I'll be the judge of that. Send me a bottle! :)
And you guys got this one before me, Johnny Miller is one of my BFFS and told me about it the day you guys were out there!
I like a few different types of beer. Let me know which of your four beers will be similar.
Yuengling Lager
Kronenbourg 1664
Newcastle Brown Ale
Thanks. I'm looking forward to throwing back a few pints at Bold City. I love the name.

Hey Jax,
That's another idea we have been throwing around. We would love to do something like that bi-annually. Homebrewers brew some of the best beer and we would love to showcase it as well as all of the local artists in town.

Just be careful, there is reason we don't have "40's" here in FL:
(6) All malt beverages packaged in individual containers sold or offered for sale by vendors at retail in this state shall be in individual containers containing no more than 32 ounces of such malt beverages; provided, however, that nothing contained in this section shall affect malt beverages packaged in bulk or in kegs or in barrels or in any individual container containing 1 gallon or more of such malt beverage regardless of individual container type.

A growler is not intended to be an individual container.
What is it then? You certainly can't convince me that Rehoboams, Methuselahs, Salmanazars, Balthazars, Nebuchadnezzars, Melchiors, Solomons, Sovereigns, Primats, Melchizedeks and Maximi are intended to be consumed by an individual either, yet they are illegal to sell in Florida :)
What is a “growler?â€
A “growler†is a large container that we may consider as either a large glass or as a bottle. These containers are usually about a ½ gallon, but may be smaller. Some States place restrictions on removal of beer from brewpubs in ½ gallon growlers.
What are the concerns for filling a “growler?â€
A growler is either a bottle or a large glass. The distinction is solely dependent on the manner in which the brewer fills the container.
When is a growler a “bottle?â€
A growler is a bottle when the brewer fills the container in advance of sale. The brewer may fill the growler prior to removal, on the brewery premises, or after tax determination on the brewpub premises.
When is a growler a “large glass?â€
A growler is a large glass when a consumer uses the container to make a purchase and the brewer then fills the container. Consumers may furnish their own growler or may purchase it from the brewer.
When is tax determined on beer used to fill growlers?
There are two conditions for tax determination (please refer to §§25.25(c), 25.157, and 25.158).
If the brewer fills a “bottle†on the brewery premises, the tax is determined upon removal for consumption or sale. Since the growler is a bottle, tax is determined on the stated net contents.
If the brewer fills a “glass†on the brewpub premises, the brewer must fill it from a tank that is tax determined.
There 64oz as well, which is a gallon.

Actually, BoldCity-
I don't mean to be an a-hole, but 64 oz. is a half-gallon. A gallon is 128 oz., or 4 quarts. It's kind of a moot point, though, based on the other info cited.
I'm looking forward to checking the brewery out when you open to the public! ;)
Hey ac,
Sorry about that. You're right. I was getting confused with what is considered a Growler (64oz) and what they must be in Florida, which is a gallon (128oz). Thanks for catching it, I would hate to confuse everyone more.
Cheers
Soooo...I guess that means growlers won't be available then? I kinda thought that might be the case...bummer.
no, no, no. We will have growlers, they will be 1 gallon, or 64oz (J/K) They will be 128oz. Sorry for the confusion, Just got my numbers mixed up.
No worries, man.
Guess I should've kept my observation to myself. ;D
Nah, I don't mind the correction. Everyone makes mistakes, right?
Mellow Mushroom usually supports local microbrews, I know out in ocean springs Miss, they serve the local micro brewery in Kiln Miss. Hopefully European street will pick it up
Don't mean to beat a dead horse but...
You're allowed to bottle from 12oz, 40oz, 64oz and 128oz as long as it's not a malt beverage?
I've lived in Jax my adult life but have a huge interest in 40oz beers/ malts and have collected bottles from all over the country.
DFH makes the Liquor De malt every year which is quite the coveted 40oz bottle.
I would love to see you guys put out a forty too
Definitely looking forward to some local brews!!
We here at Jax Conf. have a huge interest in 40's as well. ;D
(http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/2176/brownbagginqd6.jpg)
Obviously those are 32's since 40's arent legal here, but you get the idea.
Any luck on the JAX label... or is it Shhhhhhh until ? I tried to find them for you while in Texas, so I'm pulling for our home town team.

Urban,
We'll have both. They'll start off as seasonals / specialties but could turn into staples. We have 4 staples as it stands right now, but we haven't even brewed our first batch so it could change quickly if more people prefer one over the other. If people are drinking more stout than say a red ale, we'll change the brew schedule. Hope that makes sense.
Cheers
Excellent!
Stouts and porters = ;D !!

I picked up a bottle of that. Brilliant packaging, came with it's own brown bag (before you even took it off the shelf).
Thanks for including a "take home" option. Makes those limited runs of brew last a lil longer.
As for types, I will/have tried everything I can find. You guys make a stout, barleywine, malt, red, porter, dunkle (personal fav), heffeweiss, I will be there to try it.

You can bottle beer in any size you want as long as it's less than or equal to 32 ounces OR 128 ounces (1 gallon) or more. Incidently, about 5 or so years ago, it was actually illegal to bottle beer in "odd sizes," such as 1/2 litre (or ~16.9 ounces) so some non-US bottlers had to actually bottle (or label) their beers in sizes that matched what was legal here in FL.
Now, when it comes to wine, you can bottle it in sizes up to and including 3 liters. Hence my comment about Rehoboams, Methuselahs, Salmanazars, Balthazars, Nebuchadnezzars, Melchiors, Solomons, Sovereigns, Primats, Melchizedeks and Maximi, all of which are standard sizes of wine bottles that are over 3l in size, available outside of FL, and none of which I would assume would be consumed by ONE individual (which came from the "a growler isn't meant to be an individual container" comment :))
The only point of this was to point out that 64-oz growlers aren't legal. I would hate to see a new enterprise buy a quantity of nice glass containers that they couldn't use if someone decided to enforce the above container size laws.
I hearby suggest the name "A PHILLIP RANDOLPH PORTER" for that great brew. Reason? Phillip Randolph, was a black Pullman Car Porter, that went to law school and with the help of the socialist party back in the 1920's he was able to organize the nations FIRST black labor union. Going from making beds and shinning shoes, under the name of his boss... "George Pullman". The porters organized a club called the "International Society for the prevention of calling Pullman car porters George" at one point over 30,000 members joined including King George of England. You might recall from history class, that it was often a common practice for slaves to carry the masters name. Thus after the war, being called "George" was seen as an insult to these hard working men. While Randolph was putting feet to his prayers with the Union, back home Jacksonville started the first Negro league. The team was called the "RED CAPS" which was the railroad forerunner of todays "SKY CAPS". Red Caps often got noticed by the high class Pullman hotel chain and many ended up working for the Pullman Company.
So in one name you have:
African American History
Jacksonville History
One of Jacksonville's greatest sons
The Railroad History
Pullman History
Red Cap History
Baseball History
Imagine what a cool label you could come up with for this?!?!? BTW, I love porter, so if you like this idea, put me down for a 6 pack!

This is a fantastic idea, but you have to be careful about it, the PC could have a field day. But a porter named after him would be great

How late are they open Brian? BTW, have you tried ANCHOR STEAM beer Pilsner or Porter, from San Francisco? Anchor is strong stuff - bold as hell flavor - tends toward you either LOVE IT or you will HATE IT. No room for middle ground. Sold in better stores, sometimes found in Publix. Also Leopard Lager from New Zeland, the only Lager I've ever enjoyed. Tsing Tao is also awesome.

You don't know european streets closing times? I hope this doesn't means that you have never been there before. European street is definitly one of the unique parts of jacksonville. Great food, great beers, and great live music.
You got me Civil, I've been to the beach haunts, from Singletons to Buckets, Joes to Sneakers and "the Lemon Bar"... but Riverside? Not yet, long drive from the beaches area. My retirement keeps me on the short trips.. Perhaps I'll get the chance soon. Also FYI, I'm from JAX but have spent the last many years in South America. VIVA LA REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA!

I think it was called Bold City Rye Pale Ale. It was a little hoppy with a light taste of Orange, very light in color and went down quite easily. Did I mention it was strong, I was told the alcohol content was around 6.25%. Definitely worth trying.

Sounds great! I'll be there.
Me too.
I may have to just pop in to see the turnout because I have to be Tip-Top to drive out to the beach later in the evening for a going away party and the Black Kids show at Freebird.
Hey is this going to be a tap room where you can go a have a couple of beers if like? I just moved to Riverside and would love it if so. Good luck guys!
Yes, eventually. Brian can tell you more....
I know there will be an event on Sept. 23rd, but I dont think the official opening is until Oct. 11th. Please correct me if Im wrong (like I have to ask)
I just had a pint of Bold City White Ale up at Ragland's with lunch today.
They have the Rye Pale Ale on draft, too, and are running them for $3 a pint for the first keg.
A definite Homer UUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM Beer experience ;D

Looking forward to it. I haven't driven past there yet to see how big the place is but I hope you guys are prepared because if Estreet was any indication you're gonna be mobbed this Friday.
Is the soft opening open to the public? ???
Yes it'll be open to the public. I think a soft opening is like a grand opening basically but without all the hoopla and scaled back a bit so they can work out any kinks before the grand grand opening. A trial period so to speak :D
I'm sure Bold City or someone can clarify wtf it is i'm trying to say.
Checking with zoning to see what the progress is on our application..... :-*
Hi Everyone,
Looks like the retail license will not be squared away until next week so we're pushing the pre-opening back a week to October 3rd. No one is more disappointed then we are, but in the big picture, it is better to abide by the law then to burn any bridges. Hope to see you in October. Be Bold.
Cheers,
Brian
Thanks for the update Brian.
Just a reminder. Pre / Mock opening is tomorrow night, 4-9pm. We'll have our Rye Pale Ale and Olde English Ale on tap as well as a few other craft beers. Be Bold.

Brian
Tried the Rye Pale ale at European street in Riverside, pretty good. Only bad thing they dropped the Sierra Nevada to carry it. Could have been a bit more Hoppy for my tastes though.
Are T-shirts available yet?
see y'all tomorrow :o

I went for a drive at lunch in an attempt to find Bold City. I never actually found it. I am sure I probably drove by it once or twice but never arrived. If you google map it and select street view it shows the brewery at the intersection of Roselle and a pair of railroad tracks. Can someone provide some insight?
Directionally challenged??? :D

I guess it would be from Stockton... from the I-10 interchange
Maybe this will help? from Stockton you go West on Rosselle St. (where the Gate Station is) and then look on your left immediately preceding the railroad tracks. If you hit the light at King Street you have passed it by about 30 feet.

Me too.
Stopped by Friday afternoon. I want to say thanks to Brian and his family. I sampled three Bold city ales and every one was delicious. They were so good I had two more at Raglands in five points for First Friday.
Congratulations Bold City... You have a hit! :)
Went...drank...conquered! ;D
Went there yesterday with my friends. Loved it. All three beers were tasty and I loved the tap room.
Had a ton of charm and the whole staff was really friendly. Hearing the train roar by was pretty sweet too.
Next time I'm there I hope to meet the resident boxer (dog). ;D
We had a great time as well. ;D
We're also open today from 11am - 9pm for anyone who wants to come by for a pint or get a growler fill. We also have free wi-fi for all you bloggers out there.

I was gonna share some Landshark with my friends up here cause it's cool that the packaging proudly displays "Jacksonville, FL"...but then I didn't because it was Landshark. blegh ;)
I heard London Bridge is finally getting a Bold City Brew... Hey Brian... Is it possible to post the local purveyors of your fine product here??
Here's the list from the brewery's website...

Hey Bridge Troll,
Which flavor is the LB getting?
Not sure... all I was told is they were getting it. I will update as soon as I quaff a pint... :)
Hey Guys,
I believe London Bridge should be getting a delivery sometime this week. Details are still being worked out between LB and Oak St. Distribution.
Our Red Ale is also in Cool Moose now. (excellent breakfast and lunch) and will be in the Five Points Theatre possibly this week.
Get ready for another cask ale on Jan. 29th. This time featuring the Chinook IPA infused with honey and grapefruit.
Cheers for now.
Brian
Bold City Brewery
Excellent! Looking forward to having some local brew at the LB.
Beer...preventing disentary for thousands of years.
Finally had a chance to try the Brown Ale... had to go to "Perfect Rack" in Murray Hill (which is also very nice) and it is now my favorite BC brew.
I brought a friend to the tap room on Friday afternoon and there was quite a crowd there already. I enjoyed the "e-street", "mad manatee", "white ale" and "red ale".
The food was great too - chicken wings, brats and beer bread were all very tasty and priced well.
By the time we left it was standing room only with plenty of constant growler traffic coming in. Great to see Bold City swimming in business and early success.
Can wait for my next visit!
I'll be stopping in on Thursday or Friday to fill up my growler. It has been just over a month and I have already missed so much going on at the brewery. I'll have to try the new beers to see if I like them better than my tried and true Rye Pale Ale.
Im pretty sure Fuel doesnt carry BCB brew anymore cause the place has closed down....

Ha ... Hey Urban! I had more than one at Shanty this afternoon... Deeee liciuos! :D
the cream ale is good stuff! keep making it, thanks.
I gotta try the cream ale... I used to quaff genny cream up in Maine...
I seem to recall having Little Kings cream ale back in the '70s. It came in these little bottles.
You are correct sir... :D
(http://i40.tinypic.com/2nirypv.jpg)
After doing some searching, Little Kings are still being bottled in the Midwest. What makes it unique is the fact that it is bottled in 7 oz. bottles.
There are few things I recall as vividly as beers I've enjoyed.
Gotta admit my love for Genny cream ale. I'll definitely have to try the new stuff!
Hi Everyone,
Hope this email finds you well and staying dry. The Cream ale has been brewed and should be available soon. There is no special ale this week, so we're going to throw on the Coffee Stout. Only pints of the Coffee Stout will be sold (no talls, no growler fills). I'll also be sending out a list of retailers where you can pick up 22oz bottles for your enjoyment at home or wherever you like to indulge in a wonderfully brewed ale. We do have a few small batches in the works, and they will be available again starting 5/28. They are a Pale Ale, Blood Orange Wheat and an ESB. If you're planning on going to the Jacksonville Jazz Festival this weekend, be on the lookout for Bold City beer. We'll be setup in three different locations throughout the festival grounds.

I know European Street carries some
Great to see the number of establishments carrying Bold City. Hopefully this will continue to grow! Sorry that I don't drink else I'd be quaffing these. When I throw a 'cue, I'll definitely pick up some of their beer for others.
Had to go to the Ale House over in the Regency area mid week last week and they had no idea what I was talking about when asking if they carried any Bold City beers.

It says on their website that they are open from 3PM to Close. Is close just until there is no one left? I am going out to dinner first so it would not be until around 10ish until I made it there.
They are usually open until about 11 or later. It is a gamble, but it would certainly be worth the risk!!
I had the brown ale at European Street. It was very good.
Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale is the best of the best...and Duke the dog is just as cool and drank almost as much as me. hehe.

Bold City, any chance of printing som T-Shirt's with the logo's, Mad Manatee & Duke's, Bold City etc.?
^^^ This is a good idea.
I agree that the Duke's brown ale is the best of their brews that I have sampled. Smokey Porter is mighty tasty as well. Being a Guiness drinker, I'm anxious to try the Coffee Stout.
Men's and Women's T-Shirts with the Duke's and Mad Manatee logo's are now available for sale in the Bold City Tap Room. $15.

Hi Everyone,
Hope this email finds you well. The small batch this week is another version of the American Pale Ale. It will be on tap today @ 3pm. Jolly Mon will now be available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday @ 4pm. An updated menu is below. We will be @ the Folio Weekly Beer and Music Festival this Friday and hope to see you there. Also, Small brewers are facing an imminent and extremely serious threat to their businesses. The consequences of remaining silent have the very real potential of reducing your choice of beer and dramatically increasing the price of any beer that you purchase...
Go to http://www.sylb.org/excisetax.html for more information. Here is a tentative list of the retailers who will be selling the bottles of the B Coffee Stout.

Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Today @ 3pm we’ll be tapping a Dry-Hopped Rye Pale Ale. The first person to guess which hops were used to dry hop, will get a free pint on me. There are only a few pints left of the Starry Lights, get it before it’s gone. We’ve got a couple new beers and SODAS (Ginger Ale and Cream Soda) that will be coming online in the coming months. We’ll close out the summer with a Hefe, which should be ready to go by the second week of September. In November, we’ll be releasing a Scottish Wee Heavy and the Smokey Porter will be coming back on tap. Also, on top of all that we’ve still got the O Coffee Stout set for a late September / early October release. Be BOLD! Go JAGS!
Cheers,
Brian

Thanks for the update Brian... :)
I've been meaning to swing by! Maybe this Saturday I'll drop in. ;D
No Problem BridgeTroll.
See you then 904Scars
;D
Brian, do you still have any of the Bold City cups left?? I have bought a couple for myself and bought a few as gifts, but I haven't been back in a couple weeks. Please tell me you have a few.
I spotted Bold City trading secrets at another brewery yesterday...brewers supporting brewers, I like it!
Didn't get the time to swing by last weekend but I have already recruited a group of friends to go with me. I've also been taking advantage of the many places around town that serve Bold City... within the past week I've been to Mellow Mushroom (3rd St), Mossfire, Moon River & Kickbacks. Did I mention I love beer... HAHA
904, is that the new Mellow Mushrooom at the beach? I heard it's HUGE
Ya it's on 3rd Street almost dead center between Beach and Atlantic Blvd. It's big, speciallly the bar!!! There is always a nice crowd of people there. I generally sit up at the bar even if I'm eating, though there have been some nights were the bar is even filled. Good selection of beer. I like this location over the others and I generally find my way in there on the weekends when I'm at the beach.
So everyone swing into Mellow Mushroom and get a nice cold Bold City!
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Woo-Wee, We’ve got some good stuff for you this weekend. Today @ 3pm, we’ll be tapping the all new, Fritz’s Hefeweizen, as well as a test batch of the Foo’s Yer Doos, Scottish Heavy AND to top it all off, a Sour Cherry Chinook IPA Cask Ale. I’m looking forward to it, and hope to see you this weekend. Now some info from the Boss Lady (Mom) on the Anniversary celebration, Game Day Growlers and a special tailgating menu put together by Vernon (Jolly Mon). Be BOLD! Go JAGS!
Cheers,
Brian

Yea, I've heard that as well. I assure you, we were not bought by Budweiser, nor will we ever be. Ownership is still 51% Mom and 49% Me.

We looked into it when we were first starting , but I believe the building is in pretty bad shape. If i remember correctly, there was a recycling operation using it.
Any Winter specialties in the "hopper"?
The Smokey Porter (winter seasonal) will be coming back on tap. We've got a strong scotch ale in the works and we'll also have the next release "L" of the coffee stout series.
Congratulations on the one year anniversary party! Stopped in for a few hours Saturday... quaffed a few pints and had a great time! Just curious... Those taps were flowing non stop... How many kegs did you empty? ;D
That anniversary ale was some good stuff! great crowd and I was lucky enough to get an "I kicked the keg" glass so thanks for giving us beer lovers a great place to gather and drink some excellent brew.
Good times at Bold City Brewery last night...the place was hoppin' for sure, Duke wandering around collecting head scratches and snacks, Good music, trivia, prizes, non-stop trains, and Brian looked a little buzzed himself. Ha!
Thanks for coming out guys. We all had a great time as well.
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Thank you guys so much! The anniversary celebration was awesome, thanks to all who came out. Here’s what we’ve got for you this weekend. Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Here's what we've got for you this weekend. A cask of Duke's Cold Nose Brown Ale aged with vanilla beans. We'll be tapping it @ 3pm today. We've had to hand bottle the O Coffee Stout because the bottling line didn't ship until yesterday. :( Not to fret, in the grand scheme of things, it will all be ok!! Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Here’s what we’ve got for you this weekend. The Smokey Porter is coming back on tap and we’ll also have 2 different pumpkin ales going on tap starting today @ 3pm. On Saturday (Halloween), It’s $2 pints and $3 plates of Jolly Mon’s burgers and pulled pork for anyone in their Halloween costume. We’ll also be showing the big game UAB vs UTEP... just kidding, Florida vs Georgia will be on. Hope to see you this weekend.

Hope all is well. This email is a little late. Been busy… We’ve got the new Chinook being tapped today @ 3pm. This brew of the Chinook was brewed using whole leaf hops and then dry-hopped in the conditioning tank for two weeks. I hope you enjoy. See you soon.
Be BOLD! Go JAGS!
Cheers,
Brian

Dukes tall boy cans would be awesome as well. Until then I'll be stopping by to fill up my growler.
Keep up the great brews Brian. There's always new fantastic surprises at The Brewery! ;D
I FINALLY had the awesome opportunity to go to Bold City the other night. One of my good friends had her graduation party there. Very very cool! I will no doubt be back shortly. I also had my first drink from one of your growlers last night before the Jaguar game. My buddy was carrying it around with him while tailgating. Props to you guys!
"The Oatmeal Stout was Ridiculously Good!"
I agree 100%. I hope they make it a regular offering.
Hey Hey,
The oatmeal stout will become a regular offering here soon. Hopefully by mid Feb. Also, 22oz bottles of the Mad Manatee are on the way. And... be on the lookout next week for the Duke's aged on espresso beans and vanilla. We're on a vanilla bean kick lately, what can i say.... Hope to see you guys soon. Cheers, Brian

That's the best news I've heard all year!
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Here’s what we’ve got for you this weekend. On Thursday @ 3pm, we’ll be tapping the long awaited cask of Duke’s infused with Bold Bean espresso (gonna be sooo good). On Friday, we’ll be tapping the Bold City Brew off winning ESB, also @ 3pm. Once again, Congrats to Andy Butler who brewed the winning recipe. I told you last weekend about the Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival. This week, I’d like to tell you about another. On Feb 6th, there will be a Brewgrass festival in Bradenton. Fl. This should be an awesome festival as well. Beer and Bluegrass, what’s better? I’m out! See you soon! Be BOLD!
Cheers,
Brian
Don’t forget, Game Day Growlers 10am â€" 12pm until Super Bowl Sunday!!
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Here's what we've got for you this weekend. Today, @ 3pm, we'll be tapping another Cask of Duke’s infused with espresso. This one was done a little different then last week's, we used the whole espresso bean instead of milling the bean and then cold brewing it into a liquid. We also added some vanilla beans for your taste bud's delight. Also, No tours this weekend, Cody and myself will be @ the Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival. See you soon! Be BOLD!
Cheers,
Brian

I just saw this sad news about Duke in the Times Union. :'( I'm so sorry for your loss Brian, Robin, Gavin and Mason. Duke will be missed.

This is awful! My condolences to Brian and family. My wife will be crushed... :(
I am also saddened by the loss of Duke. My family has been mourning his loss all morning. My sister and I both loved Duke. He was a great dog and a real treat to have in the brewery. He was the highlight of many a Bold City experience.
RIP Duke
How horrible. They must get a new boxer to keep the tradition alive.
Like UGA? Let the legacy begin! I agree, although it's probably a little early and a little tough to usher in a new pal right away. I enjoyed telling everyone around me about the actual dog running around at Bold City while enjoying a cold Duke's. RIP & thanks Bold City for giving Jacksonville something to be proud of.
Duke Jr.
I read about Duke this morning. It was very sad.
I met Duke few times and he was always in the best mood. One of the most personable dogs I had ever met.
R.I.P. Duke; your legacy will live on at Bold City!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Duke was a wonderful companion, best friend, and member of our family as well as the Bold City family. He will and is being sorely missed. His memory will live on through his brown ale as well as the memories many of us have. We will get a another dog, a Boxer of course, and he will have lots to live up to. But for now, will give ourselves some time. Thanks again for all of your support.
Cheers,
B
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. This week has been a good week. The start of football season is upon us, the Fritz is back on tap, we got some new kegs in, and the Brewhouse showed up. Oh Yea! That’s right! It’s here and in the process of being setup as I type this. We hope to have production completely moved to the new Brewhouse by the middle of next week. Cross your fingers!
The Bold City 2 Year Anniversary planning has begun and I will have more information soon!
Gotta get back to work!
Hope to see you soon.
Be BOLD!
Cheers,
Brian
Long live you guys!
Had the opportunity to swing into BC on Saturday with a good friend of mine who had never been there. We took the tour, played with the new boxer pup "Barley" and a few brews while speaking with Susan. I always say after leaving I need to go up there more often but after this last visit I for sure need to support the home team more often! Thanks Bold City!
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. We’ve been busy here brewing up a storm on the new system. The Mad Manatee will be back on tap today, along with Killer Whale, Duke’s, and Fritz. The 1901 will be back tomorrow. We’ll also be taking a bit of the Mad Manatee and 1901 and adding it to a couple of bourbon barrels for the Bold City 2 Year Anniversary celebration on October 9th. Also, Chinook lovers unite; we’ll be brewing the Chinook IPA next week and will have that ready for the Bold City 2 Year Anniversary celebration as well.
Game Day Growlers start this Sunday. We’ll be here to fill them up from 10am â€" noon.
Don’t Forget! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 9th, for our Two Year Anniversary celebration. There will be $2 pints all day long from 1pm till 11pm.
Hope to see you soon.
Go Jags! Let’s win the first one! Be BOLD!
Cheers,
Brian
BOLD CITY I LOVE YOU!
could you please fix your pole light in the parking lot near Frattle and Frank's?
over the retention/drainage area. south of the permanently parked white box van?
along Gilmore between Ralph and West?
I'll see you, drink you and yes eat you too.. .soon, very soon.
I was encouraged to get on the growler train by my friends Birdie and Jason. Glad I did! Nothing like rolling up in there and grabbing a gallon of great beer, having a pint while they fill it, and enjoying the people there having a great time. Thank you guys for the product you provide and your staff. Everyone there is friendly and happy and seems to love what they do.
Happy employees = happy customers!
