Yesterday I saw a sign near the San Marco Blvd/Landon Ave intersection saying River Rd would be one way northbound, starting July 25th. Is this a permanent thing? I'm guessing just from Landon to Sorrento? This should be interesting.
I think it's permanent. It was talked about a while back, it's an attempt to cut down on the gridlock there at busy times with cars parked and two way traffic the road is too narrow.
That's what I figured... trying to cut down on folks cutting through there during rush hour. I knew it had been talked about for a while but didn't realize it was really happening.

I knew there was discussion of making it one way just for the stretch at the river front park (between Landon and Laverne) related to improving that park. Didn't know there was any plan besides that. Wow.
Well that's where the sign is, as you drive down Landon, right before you go into the park area, so maybe it's just that. That actually seems more likely.
For anyone wondering who hasn't seen -- it's just the stretch of road at Riverfront Park that is one way. Seems to be working out well.

By working out well do you mean a lot of cars still drive south on that stretch?
I have been adhering to the rules, but it is very frustrating when someone behind me goes south on the one way and then gets ahead of me when I get back on river road.

I haven't experienced that yet. I mean more from a park user perspective, when it gets busy the traffic seems a little calmer -- less people trying to do u-turns to get a parking spot, etc.
