The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and the I’m A Star Foundation have formed a partnership to empower Jacksonville’s citizens to live healthier, longer and stronger lives.   As part of this effort, I’m A Star has set up a produce market featuring healthy, fresh and local produce for sale at Rosa Parks Transit Station every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn more after the jump!

Saw some media reports on this. Folks they interviewed seemed to really like the idea. Never heard the term "food desert" before this but there are more than a few in/around Jacksonville based on the graphic they showed in one story. Great to see the young people involved in this initiative too. I heard that 400 people made purchases. JTA's Rosa Parks Station looks like a good venue for this venture. Might have to go get some peaches.
