Its not technically in Avondale, but at least the JBJ knows where Avondale is located versus all of the Westside....

QuoteA Downtown late night staple has opened its new location in Avondale.

Chomp Chomp, which closed its Downtown location on Friday, reopened at 4162 Herschel St. on Wednesday.

It is totally different (table service, alcohol, plenty of seating) and totally the same (the food and service were great). Ian did say he was looking to add other restaurants with different themes and menu's, but that he wishes someone else would open a good restaurant so he could go. I love that guy.

Just got back agree with everything CG7 just said.

The new space is fantastic compared to the Adams St digs.  The guys in the kitchen are pretty hyped, too - it's got AC!  And since they have about 3x the space (and AC), I've got a pretty strong suspicion that we'll be seeing their menu get a little more creative as they get moved in.

I hope normal, weekday walk-up sales will be enough to keep them going because I think they'll lose out on some of their normal dinner crowd since there are more restaurants around, but I'm probably wrong.  But being right down the street from Eclipse is only going to help the Thu-Sat late night weekend sales either.
