Title: Rue St. Marc
Post by: river4340 on May 21, 2016, 10:50:24 PM
Medure brothers plan to open French bistro in San Marco in the fall and a barbecue place in St. Augustine this summer.

This is good news, but I was really hoping they would be opening an M Shack in that San Marco location!

Is this going where the existing M Shack food truck is?

Sweet. The rich get richer (by that I mean San Marco residents.)

100% Open for business. Serving breakfast starting at 7 am. Brunch on weekends starts at 8 am.

Went this morning. Very good, had the eggs over easy with sausage and sweet potato hash. Delish!

Wife had baguette with house made jam.  Enjoyed it. This place is delightful inside, has a quaint outdoor area too.

Not busy. Wait person wanted me to get the word out about breakfast, so I am doing this.  Hopefully breakfast will last. It's hard to say. I think it will do fine with lunch and dinner.

Going to check it out for dinner tomorrow night. It is within walking distance from my house.

Checked out Good Dough on Sunday morning and was very satisfied with my experience there. Donuts were good and the interior work is great. Well done.

They probably ought to update their website if they want to do that. I couldn't find any info (says open at 11a) and had to come to this thread to look up info on breakfast/brunch.

Also, this may be a newbie question and if so I apologize, but what's the menu difference between brunch and breakfast? Anything besides hours? Can I go for breakfast early on a weekday to get the same experience that would be available later on the weekend? Thanks!

No more breakfast. That was clearly a pipe dream, and it may be revisited later once they are up and running smoothly.

I did go for lunch today. Pretty crowded. SLOW.  Excellent food when it arrived, I hate to say but I wanted a burger so I ordered one. It was very very good. Also the steak fries.

Will go again, hopeful that service speeds improve. Hard not to.

Has anyone had "the French version of a hash brown" yet?

That was short lived. Your original comment about breakfast and helping to get the word out was less than three days ago lol.

Alright, well yes hope it returns. Will have to try dinner there sometime.

The eggplant beignets are amazing, and I don't really eat eggplant.  Took my foodie bro in law there. He works PR for Lou Hammond, as a Travel and Food Specialist, so mostly travels and eats at amazing restaurants and bars all over the US and Caribbean. He loved it. We all did.

Went last night. Stuck to the appetizer menu and tried 5 different items. All very good. Wife had the Negroni flight (3 shorts) and loved it. I had 2 three ounce pours of Lebanese red and a Spanish cerveza, plus 2 desserts, all for $99.

Great night out.
