Of all the junk in Orange Park they could have burned down they chose that? Nice. This was in the old original part of OP, on the east side of 17.
Should have just used the Roadway Inn on 17
This is indeed very sad to read/watch. Why do we continue to destroy those things that are historic? And if it was in such disrepair, they should have at least allowed the historic material (hard wood floors, century old beams, etc.) to be salvaged for use in other historic structures. Shameful......
The old wood and materials simply can't be replaced.

What was wrong with the building ? It actually looked pretty nice.
If they want to train realistically, why not use one of the McMansions ?
They say that it wasn't historic after major renovations in 1983. So just like Soldier Field, it's historical status was revoked. I'm sure if it hadn't under went those 'renovations' it wouldn't be burnt down right now.
If it wasn't structurally unsound, what were they thinking? There are plenty of homes they could practice on rather than the municipalities shelling out for demolition contractors.
