Interesting read.  I hope the anonymous person who authored the e-mail in the article is correct.  I just do not see John Rutherford being a good congressman; he never struck me as an intellectual heavyweight.

Based on recent Congressional behaviors, I am wondering when that was a requirement.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan was the last intellectual heavyweight to walk the halls as far as I know.

Yreah, I'm not sure how being a sheriff (and not a good one, IMO) makes you qualified for Congress.
But then these people love to live on our taxes: Mike Hogan (attempted mayor, current supervisor of elections) and Jerry Holland, (former supervisor of elections, current tax collector) for example.

He was a horrible sheriff and would be just as bad in Congress. Perhaps he should be satisfied with his current pension. He doesn't need two.

which position is that?
