The Jacksonville Jaguars are gone and so is the city's "investment" in the franchise.

This is bold, shocking.
I don't know what to say.

I'm not even going to read this....Nice try with the April Fools
Is this a an April Fools joke or Stephen Dare's dream? ;D
Homeless shelter in hemming park is still my favorite MetroJax April fool's joke.
I think that if this is an April Fools Joke youre opening yourself up to a lawsuit. This could effect ticket sales, advertising dollars, lost revenue, etc. Also part of the terms of the forum and posting comments on this forum is that no false information is allowed to be posted. I think this should go for this as well.
:o
I will buy the scoreboards.
I got dibs on the new amphitheater! And some of the cabana furniture.
Everbank field pool water can't melt steel beams.

OMG!!! With the long touted trickle down effect, the City will surely follow with a municipal Chapter 9 filing. :P
I for one think this is great news ... I mean this puts Jacksonville in a prime spot to recruit an NBA team!

um....I guess you totally overlooked the proof?

The coffee ring was a really good touch!
I dunno what I'm gonna do as a Jags fan!!!! So sad. :(
^^^That was my overly dramatic reaction to the joke of course. ;)
A very well-crafted April Fool's Joke...

Absolutely! It totally got me for a few seconds when I got the email. Great job!
I knew from the title it was an April Fools joke. No team in the NFL is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. That league prints money and the Jags have nearly doubled in value since Khan took over. Pretty funny read though. Loved the 5 year plan image.

Does Putnam county know about this?
so, three primary reactions to this piece.
1. Funny!
2. Not Funny. In a bad taste. Never reading MetroJ again.
3. Could have been funny but you suck at comedy.
The number 2 people are unusually odd. The way some people respond to Jaguars commentary, you would think Donald Trump was defamed.
I hope I never understand the strange and unforgivable religiosity surrounding football.
So my initial reaction?
Cool....now we have a place to build the Ferris wheel.....

It's really not that serious....
I really don't get the Jaguar hate on this board. Believe what you want, but Jacksonville would not be where it is today without them.
Of course there's questions of money, but that comes any time the government is involved (jta anyone?).
Embrace the jags, they're uniquely Jax!

I tend to agree. Better lawyer up boy's!

not to mention hundreds and hundreds of shares on Facebook, and god knows how many retweets.
MJ profitted at the expense of the Jaguars for this "prank". God knows how much recourse is due.
Apache, thanks for the count. Describing the general reactions to the article does not imply a low or a high number of direct responses.
BUT Yes, private email messages, public and private Facebook comments (in the hundreds) and Twitter commentary.
I had one person find my personal Facebook just to private message me his opinion on the piece, which was not gracious.
To your point, yes, most took it as they should. There were probably just over 20 comments that were in the #2 category, but I'm getting used to that kind of reaction when it relates to Jaguars.
Not true, I'm still surprised by anyone giving any company their zombie-like dedication; especially, when public money heavily subsidizes the company.

This is sarcasm? If not, so much recourse is due. ::)
I'm sure the Jaguars loved the additional attention.
I'm even willing to bet they experienced a spike in ticket sales as a result of the April Fools piece.

Well I rescind my "meh" then. That's nuts. Surprising. And nuts.
People actually being offended by this is way funnier than the gag itself.

Where exactly are we?
The Bahar Shoukhe Investment Fund:
Bahar means Spring.
Shoukhe means Joke.
So, the Spring Joke Investment Fund....
It's farsi, which is very similar to Urdu, which is the official language of Pakistan, which is where Shad Khan Hails.
Well, my fellow Jaxons, there are the old Jacksonville Bulls games on YouTube that we can watch. You've got to admit this article did catch my eye for a moment, but I did remember what day this was. I did happen to see where Britain's Prime Minister said that there would be no April Fool's pranking going on over there, so maybe they may think that this is legit.
Great job guys, I thought this was a great gag. For those who didn't like it, I say, "Bah, humbug".
