Title: History of Kim Scott?
Post by: Houseboat Mike on March 30, 2016, 09:29:59 PM
So I have been perusing this forum for a while, and it seems that Kim's name is brought up a lot in a bunch of different conversations- mainly when it comes to demolitions and SPAR. For myself and the other "sideline" participants of this forum, anyone feel like tackling the question...."Who is Kim Scott, how does she have so much power, and why is she tearing down historic houses?

I see she is still employed by COJ, and is part of the "Neighborhood" program. I assume that is a bad thing.

Just curious.

In addition, we have been told that Kim Scot was mentored by .... Derek Igou!

Kimberly Scott's protection goes much higher than the Mayor's office, or at least we believe it does.  Nothing else makes sense.  During her confirmation hearing for her last promotion, which by the way was after it was proven that the illegal use of HUD funds for demolitions happened under her watch, I watched and heard Lori Boyer walk down and apologize to Ms Scott for the questions and let her know what other questions were coming. It was obvious from the shift in attitude towards Ms Scott from City Council that lots of political capital had been expended to insure her promotion.

Just based on what can be proven in black and white about her professional performance, I find it hard to believe anyone would say Ms Scott is getting ahead based on her own merits.  I suggest that we need to look outside of City Hall for why she keeps her job and gets promotions.
