Title: O'Brothers closing
Post by: river4340 on March 25, 2016, 10:38:07 PM
O'Brothers Irish Pub in Five Points, whose St. Patrick's Day parties have become a Jacksonville institution, is closing. Its last day will be Sunday.
The business has been sold to new owners, including Jeffrey Forrest, former owner/chef of Crush in Avondale. They plan to reopen it in May as Five Points Tavern.

That's a disappointment. I suppose I should hold off on forming an opinion about the new restaurant until it actually opens, but an "American Bisto Tavern" doesn't really do it for me. Then again, I've been wrong before. Hopefully the block party lives on.

Worried you might miss such authentic Irish fare as Irish nachos, chicken tenders, fried pickles and corned beef and cabbage panini?

;D

The amateur hour shit-show? Good riddance.

That's the best part!

But it is amazing for business in 5 Points. Everywhere was packed on St. Paddy's Day, even with the rain.
