Title: Riverwalk inspirations

The Esplanade de Espana of Alicante, Spain

The downtown vision wants to highlight the river, so spare no expense and make it phenomenal. Lots and lots and lots of palm trees, streetlights and a BIG walking space. Shops and restaurants of course on the other side. Make it a connecting strip that feeds it perdendicular in the middle and runs back up into the downtown to funnel activity uptown as well. Make something spectacular that travellers will marvel at.

I'm sure the palm tree haters are gonna love this one!  It does looik nice. Notice the retail/restaurants close by. Something we are sorely lacking along our Riverwalk (except the Landing).

Would be a great idea if we could get the riverwalk lined with shops, hotels, and restaraunts.  With the Landing and Metro Park as anchors at each end, the possibilities are endless.

Now this is the way you do a riverwalk!  If only we could sway the powers that be.

Those curvy lines on the walkway will make the homeless guys dizzy... ;)
