Hopefully they can get a great matchup, and we're not stuck with something like BYU or WV.  But it takes 2 to tango.

To anyone outside of Florida, a game in Jacksonville is not considered "neutral" in their mind when they play a team based in Florida. Therefore the money has to really talk.

I dont think the SEC is willing to take on a team like FSU that early, so I would look for a smaller Big Ten or Big 12 team instead.  PAC-12 is a nada. People there dont travel for their teams.

Well, playing in Florida does help open up Florida Recruits to the program.  See Michigan holding camp down here this year and the SEC fuss over it.  But I agree that most teams would consider it an away game.

FSU opens this season with Ole Miss in Orlando, and next season with Bama in Atlanta.  Been trying to get Auburn for a few years, but they keep backing out.

Maybe Tennessee?

The story is incorrect. FSU last played a regular season game in Jacksonville September 27, 2008 against Colorado. The game was dubbed "The River City Showdown". It was Coach Bowdens 500th game as a head coach. FSU defeated Colorado 39-21.
