This is nice. One might almost call it promising if it weren't Jacksonville. Includes capital improvements aligned with bringing Amtrak back to the Prime Osborne.

Man this would be nice. The train stops are annoying, and potentially dangerous for ambulances. Plus all the other benefits.
Nice, but they need to get their facts straight. The Crescent NEVER ran between Jacksonville and New Orleans. This train, started by Southern Railway and later taken over by Amtrak, runs between New Orleans and New York.
^I think he means the Sunset Limited, the one that ran into Florida from New Orleans. They've been looking at restoring it, but not stopping in Jacksonville, which is dumb.
Good luck on those TIGER grant funds.
^True. They are pretty difficult to get.
QuoteClark said the existing switching system is outdated and requires train operators and rail yard personnel to communicate via radio, which slows down trains as they approach the yard compared to using automated technology that is the industry standard
.
This one is funny, as the FEC RY is and has been far above 'industry standards' on all things track and signals.
