This is another BRT-LITE route that is sorely needed. My question is why so 'lite?' On the Arlington Expressway from Washington Street to the Regency Mall we could add a surface new center lane each way as exclusive BRT territory. With stations in the median, the overpasses at University, Cesery etc. all serving as pedestrian entry's to the system. Boda-Bing Boda-Biff and we've got 'SILVER LEVEL BRT' (systems are ranked on a international scale - Bronze, Silver, Gold and what we have now doesn't equal even the bronze level) all the way from downtown to Regency. Like the Northwest and Southwest routes these are solid choices by JTA.
This is driving me insane, I hate that everything from outside of the US is basterized once its introduced into our culture. Just because the federal government creates a category doesn't make it an actual thing. We don't call the trolley routes "Street Car Lite." There is no god damned "BRT lite." It is either BRT or it's not. The Fyler is an express bus at best when traffic allows for it.
I am also awed that JTA is so proud of the 15 minute headways. 15 minutes headways are standard for nearly every bus system nationwide for all routes.

^It's *Nat Ford. And the problems with local public transit hardly began with him.
JTA's BRT dreams (or whatever you want to call the investment in Jax) date back at least to the BJP in 2000. That's more than a decade before Ford came to town. At the end of the day, while it's definitely not real BRT, it will be good to have a reliable regular big city bus line to the beach.
Want it bad, but will I be too old to use it. I've only been waiting for 60 years.
