Where is Ocklawaha? Not the town but the Trasit Wizard.
He was at Hola tonight showing off all of his trolley images from his recent out of town trip.
Ever heard of a private message?
Gatorback probably refers to my being so close and still not meeting him. Sorry there TEX but time was limited so I never got any closer then the Texas and Pacific Station in Fort Worth. Came home by way of Oklahoma City, Ft. Smith, Little Rock, Memphis... It was a "speed run" from Memphis to home.
Now Lakelander, I was showing off those photos because I thought Y'all would want to see those other towns. So nobody gets the wrong idea, I wasn't running around a restaurant telling people, "Lookie here y'all, at this here picture, I done been to Texas..." MJ or JOL or whoever is welcome to use them too as they are all digital. Tonights batch is digitized 35mm film, the other 500 are pure digital 8meg.
Lunican, we use the private message system, but since he hadn't located me and thought I was still on the road, I think he figured one of y'all might have heard where I was.
THE WIZARD IS SAFE BACK IN OZ...
However...Who is that knocking on my door?
The Inspector General of the Colombian Railroads wants me to build a deal for intermodal service...hummm?
JTA still needs a brain transplant and transit CPR how I'd love to work on their case. Here my ideas are met
with silly jokes and snickers from the JTA crowd, in Colombia they pay the doctor for his work. Another job
was offered in Texas, complete design and build, stuff little boy dreams are made of, but it isn't home.Oklahoma has certainly been "a home" in my past, and they too would love to have me join their rail team and push for the return of the Oklahoma Railway. Oklahoma City sparkles and has ran so far ahead of Jacksonville in downtown development that we couldn't get a radar fix on their location. Then I walk by Hogans Creek and I swore I saw a interurban car cross it just to the South of the Arlington Expressway, Again I heard that distinct "whoooo whoooo" Interurban horn as it approached Philip Randolph. That never-was-Restaurant at Davis and Union sure made a great MUSEUM-RESTAURANT-CARBAN and tourist attraction. Davis Street hasn't been this alive since 1932. And oh yeah, I was talking about leaving, Colombia, Texas, Oklahoma... Nah, think I'll just hang around awhile and see if anyone else catches St.Elmo's Fire For Streetcars.
Until then, I'm NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE Toto!
Ocklawaha (OZ of the Transit World) Grand TROLLEY Wizard Deluxe...
Cool. You're back safely. 100% right on with the PMS. LOL. I was wondering if you could identify this picture. What you see Trasit Wizard of Oz? Hint: This was on the History Channel recently.
