Inside, the only damn thing they did outside was cut the ribbon on the front of the door. Barbara Gubbin has about as much creativity in a rock, she never thought to hold anything outside so when we rolled by at about 12:30, everyone/everything was inside.
Ugh!
Great to see the inside too! Everything was fresh and clean and new. There were lots and lots of smiles and stories about childhood visits. The place was jammed with familiar faces.
So the doomsday post on this earlier was greatly exaggerated, as we suspected. :)
Glad to see them open. It's such a cool library and building.
I'd say everyone was excited to have our library open again. The children's room in the basement which had been flooded was clean and repainted, new floors, windows fixed. The place was full of kids and parents and oodles of books on the shelves.
There was a general sense of surprise that willow branch re-opened.
