QuoteJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
The Walmart at River City Marketplace was held up by a man with a gun early Monday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A woman who was at the store when it opened around 6 a.m. told News4Jax two men robbed the store. She said one had on a Walmart vest and had a gun. She said the other man was in a getaway car.

Police said they are looking for the men and ask anyone with information about the robbers to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.

The store was locked down for over an hour before police allowed anyone to leave.

"I've got friends that work here, and I bring my granddaughter in here with me all the time," Debra Woodbeck said. "It kind of worries me that that goes on here."

Many shoppers like Woodbeck arrived at the Walmart Monday morning to find the store closed and surrounded by crime scene tape. The store has since been reopened for business.

"We noticed that they were using gloves, and we know they don't do that unless forensics is out there," Woodbeck said. "I can't believe that at Walmart. I mean, I know they do shoplifting here, but armed robbery -- I just can't believe it."

Many shoppers said the news of the robbery has them thinking about their safety.

"You get to where you just don't feel safe anymore," shopper Charles Wolfla said.

The Walmart has a surveillance system inside the store, but police have not said if the armed robbery was caught on camera.
