In the past few years JUs campus has really transformed. If you haven't been you should check it out.

This is really neat for JU but I don't see it doing anything to revitalize Arlington. JU is it's own little world over there, totally closed off from the area around it. Great if you're a JU student but as for the surrounding area and the people who live there, not a big deal.

That is why I'm surprised they set the building so far back.  I don't know how this is helping to revitalize Arlington or University Blvd.

I guess none of you read the last line of the article.

Eventually, the new North Hall will be joined by a mix of uses, including 175,000 square-feet of commercial space, intended to facilitate JU's growth and revitalize Arlington.

As a JU graduate, I take pride in all efforts to revitalize the school's reputation. I'm certain that every proposal will not come to light, but JU has gained recognizable momentum in recent years. Hopefully the City of Jacksonville and Tim Cost (JU) will strengthen their partnership in efforts to stimulate positive growth.

I read it.... I'm not holding my breath. If this part of the plan does come to fruition, will it approach University Blvd, or will it also be set back within JU's campus? I mean, UNF has thousands of square feet of retail space, too... Bookstore, foodservice, Starbucks, etc. None of it has any impact on the surrounding area.
