Is Metro Jacksonville covering the inaugurations of the mayor and sheriff today?
... guess not.
But it was a great day. The program was excellent; the speeches were uplifting and on-point. The theme of the event, One City * One Jacksonville!, was inspirational. The speakers -- especially Bishop Guns -- connected.
It was the best inaugural I've attended. Mayor Curry and Sheriff Williams were gracious and welcoming. I know it's the honeymoon period, but I'm content to give these gentlemen, their staffs, and the new Council all the support I can as they tackle the thorny issues before them.
My dad was there, I was working. It looks like it was a good event, but those things always are. Now that the ceremonial stuff is behind us, hopefully we'll get to some good work.
CH4 was there and put up the videos of Curry and Williams if you wan to watch them:

It was good - lots of positive energy and inclusion. Having been to a few of these before, I have to second Jimmy's review of the event.
Were Curry and Williams separated at birth?
Awe, I am saddened that the local news media will not be able to run to Bill Bishop for a quote about absolutely nothing since he is NOT on the City Council now. Really a sad day for local news crews.
Sad that no one here decided to cover absolutely nothing about the inauguration, a far cry from 4 years ago when their "I'm With Alvin" disciple was set to lead Jacksonville into a promised land......thud.
