I think when talking about ports in Jax, we usually mean the Sea port, however the analysis includes quite a bit more:

If you look at the map on page 8 and then go on to the list you can see that not too many "Sea port only cities" are on the list.
I would be curious to see what the top commodity by value is for Jacksonville - anyone know how to find this out?
Yes. I know Anchorage is very much heavy on the airside...
I am shocked and appalled to learn that Jacksonville is not in fact a major logistics hub. I'm also disappointed to learn that we don't in fact have three interstate systems (I-10, I-95, and I-75) in town ;)
With all the sea port, rail and highway infrastructure in place, the results surprised me, as well.
Then again, the airport....
It is also important to see that the list goes by value - I would guess a bunch of containers filled with iThingies or petroleum / gas products that go / come via a pipeline or a tanker are hard to beat in terms of $$$ value.
Not a surprise, I'm with Alvin did not use these numbers in their campaign, not much to tout, yet another reminder of the last 4 years of wasted time with someone who had no idea what he was doing to grow the Jacksonville in terms of logistics.
