Title: Angela Corey Filed for Third Term
Post by: TheCat on May 29, 2015, 11:00:52 AM
QuoteState Attorney Angela Corey is officially a candidate for a third term representing Clay, Duval and Nassau counties in the 4th Circuit.
Corey filed the required forms Thursday with the Division of Elections in Tallahassee.

The move is not a surprise. Corey told the Times-Union last year that she would be seeking re-election.

Corey has one opponent who also has filed, former Assistant State Attorney Wesley White. White was originally a Corey supporter who ran the Nassau County office for her, but later became disenchanted with Corey and resigned.

A March poll from the University of North Florida poll had 51 percent of registered voters in the area disapproving of Corey's job performance. The poll questioned only Duval voters.

Corey won in a landslide in her first election in 2008 and ran without opposition in 2012.

White and Corey are both Republicans. If they remain the only two candidates in the race, they will face each other in the 2016 primary election Aug. 30 with all registered voters able to cast a ballot.

If a Democrat or someone with no party affiliation files for the post, Corey and White would face each other in the primary with only registered Republicans able to vote. The winner in that election would then face the Democrat or person with no party affiliation in the general election Nov. 8.

I'm not a fan of Angela Corey but I do like that she hasn't been in the news since the Dunn Case which she helped win. So if we want to vote her out lets not forget about her past? http://www.nationalreview.com/article/353633/angela-coreys-checkered-past-ian-tuttle?splash= Not Guilty: Jury acquits George Zimmerman http://mynews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2013/7/13/george_zimmerman_jur.html

Angela Corey is an awful, awful human piece of trash.  I hope the GOP establishment finally comes to its senses on her.
Don't put money on this. Sometimes the only reason someone stays in power is because the other more powerful people that helped put them there need to know whats going on behind the scenes?
