"As a member of the Planning Commission I have been a strong voice in redevelopment of our City's core, particularly in defending the zoning overlays of our historic neighborhoods. While I don't know her personally, she definitely has a platform to speak on. The roads on the NE side of Duval County are horrible. One of the fastest-growing areas of the county and there are two-lane roads that are barely able to keep up with the traffic count. As more homes and communities are developed, it is going to be too late to take the reactive approach.
Main Street (US 17) definitely needs to be widened from New Berlin Road to Pecan Park Road. That would be a great start. resurfacing Alta/Yellow Bluff from 295 to Starratt or even US 17 would also be beneficial. pretty soon, Yellow Bluff will also need to be widened in the not too distant future.
