Title: Part-time Gardener Needed
Post by: mvp on May 05, 2015, 11:51:10 AM
Requires approximately four hours one day per week with opportunity to increase hours based on performance.  Schedule is flexible, but need to commit to weekly interval.

Prefer someone with gardening experience, attention to detail and work references.  Great opportunity for student interested in horticulture/garden design.

Duties as needed include:

-hand weeding – pulling or digging out roots
-organic fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide application (All fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are organic and pet safe and will be supplied by the homeowner – examples of products used include corn gluten meal, worm castings, neem oil, Epsoma products)
-planting annuals and perennials in containers and small garden beds and maintaining them
-hand watering
-selective trimming and pinching of small shrubs and flowers to shape and encourage growth
-cleaning and filling bird feeders
-lifting bags/containers up to 40 lbs

Will not be required to use power tools, mow, edge, climb ladders or haul debris off-site.

Homeowner provides all tools and materials.

Please PM if you are interested or would like to refer someone.  Thanks!

The awesome gardener I found here in May kept my beds looking great over the summer, but he has taken a full-time gig in the corporate world so I'm on the hunt again...
