Title: New 2,000-home community breaks ground in St. Johns

Freehold Communities has begun development of Shearwater, a master-planned community that will embrace "healthy living, engagement, connectivity, stewardship of nature and distinctive design," the company announced.

The 1,500-acre community will include 400,000 square feet of commercial retail, a K-8 school and 600 acres of open space.

The community will be west of Interstate 95.

Wow.  Good thing St. John's County waived all of their impact fees for residential development or that project might have crossed north into Jacksonville where we're basically giving away infrastructure $$$.
