Six hundred new apartments — one of the most encouraging signs of Downtown revitalization — were scheduled to open in Brooklyn during the fourth quarter of last year.

For those following the project, it was like anticipating the lead act of a rock 'n' roll concert — everyone waited. Weeks stretched into months.

Now, the moment is almost here.

Brooklyn Riverside, a 310-unit apartment complex behind Fresh Market, will release its first 43 homes to tenants as early as next week.

I drive on Park Street frequently - those units are VERY close to the sidewalk, and the street.  Urban living!

So it started way after and is opening doors before 220?  Seems like 220 has been under construction forever... like 2 years.

The vandalism at 220 which caused major flooding delayed it about 4 months. First tenants were originally supposed to move in this month.

First tenants were originally supposed to move in last August. They are not happy...

First tenants were originally supposed to move in last August. They are not happy...

This.  Vandalism or not, it's way behind schedule.
