Title: ESPN's New Website Layout
Post by: I-10east on April 02, 2015, 10:46:09 AM
It's a disaster. Before it was so efficient, now I don't know what in the hell I'm looking at... Anniversary = obligatory dumb change = confused people. Thanks ESPN...

It sucks. It's designed for mobile, so the desktop experience is pretty horrible now. The forum members at RealGM aren't impressed either:

^^^Yup, you hit the nail on the head. It's like they tried to copy the bleacher report, with that mobile user friendly crap.

Mobile Firefox hasnt been able to render the site until now. Clearly mobile oriented.

Alot of people thought it was a April Fools joke.

I just dont like video autoplay. Your login cookie has to stay persistent to maintain the settings.

I will open the site and get blasted with some unwanted sports update.

On the flip side they have cracked down on ad and cookie blockers.

I cant view certain video highlights unless I permit certain cookies now. Some of them are a little obtrusive.

Basically just knowing your IP address is not enough anymore.

Hard to find things on mobile too.

Been looking for the box score of the McDonald's All American game for a while on my phone....

Fox Sports now has a better layout than ESPN. Amazing, it's actually decipherable!!!

This might be nitpicking, but I don't like how when you click on a score up at the top of a game that's currently playing, that it takes you straight to the gamecast. Before, you could just hover your mouse over the score and choose between box score or gamecast. Now, I have to visually dig around for the box score.

I thought I was the only one - doesn't work well. I don't like how it was three clicks once I was on the on the site to see MLB scores. It used to be one scroll.
