Title: water taxis
Post by: sheclown on June 02, 2008, 09:34:47 PM
We parked and took the water taxis around on Memorial weekend.  It was great fun playing the tourist at home.  We cruised over to the landing, ate a hamburger, and then walked over the bridge on our way back.  It was wonderful fun in the evening, and Jacksonville never looked as good.

In Baltimore, water taxis are used by the locals.  It is part of the morning and evening commute.  They run constantly.  Is it possible to use the taxis here as part of a downtown commute?  Is it feasible?  Does anyone do this?

The JTA recently conducted a study on the feasibility of water taxis for commuting.  Because of the way the city is laid out, they aren't feasible right now.

That's too bad.  Water taxis have a high cool factor.
