Jacksonville residents are not very smart with their money. In fact, as a whole, they're some of the worst in the country.
That's the conclusion of an organization called BadCredit.org, which bills itself as an authority on that particular subject. It analyzed Experian's annual credit data for more than 200 cities and metropolitan areas based on average credit scores, debt not counting mortgage, balances on bank cards and something called credit utilization ratio. That's balance on all your credit cards divided by the credit limit on those cards.

In other words, how maxxed out are you? The lower the ratio, the better.

Just go to public places around town and people watch... it's not that surprising.

Seems our ability to manage money carries right into elected office as well. The disease is well implanted.
