Probably won't get the same media coverage as..... ;) The cause? No deaths or cries of injustice from the residents. Just the local football team winning a national championship. ???

Rioters recovering from being tear gassed....

Remember when FSU won the national championship and there was rioting and burning of stuff? Yeah, me neither. I'm sure this will be talked about heavily in the media. They'll refer to tOSU as a "thug" university that lacks institutional control in order to cover for its football team...right?
"Student outdoor rally gets out of hand when <insert school name here> wins national championship."
I blame Urban Meyer. Just because.
Here we go again. Is everyone too afraid to talk about black on black crime in Chicago?
From what I've seen, the term "riots" is being used pretty loosely....granted it appears one sofa was burned (a bit juvenile maybe), but it seems from the photos I've seen that it was simply a lot of very happy people celebrating a big win. Frankly I would probably have been right there with them had I been in Columbus (Go Bucks!). The only controversy was the police using tear gas which seems like an overreaction.
But maybe I missed something.
This reminds me of Gainesville after one of our championships, when a police officer standing around for crowd control was tragically killed by a drunk driver. We weren't "rioting" per se but there were huge crowds on the street. Put a real damper on things the following morning.
Were any businesses looted and/or burned to the ground, anyone held up or mugged, any mobs chanting to kill cops??
Must have missed something. Where were the "riots"?

It could have happened at FSU and we just never knew about it. I mean you know they are good in Tally at covering up things. ;)

According to police, about 30 to 40 fires and celebratory gunfire before the pepper spray show started. I'm not for sure about any muggings or chants but I'd be the house there was a lot of coitus activity in the capitol city last night!
