FSU is losing in the 3rd Q... Where is the FAT LADY? It's time for her to Sing!
She already finished her performance. FSU had a good run but most should have known FSU's offense wasn't going to keep up with Oregon's over the course of four quarters. I guess it will be the Ducks against Bama next week.
Defense played well enough to win. The game turned with 3 fumbles turning into 20 Oregon points. Combine that with piss poor red zone offense and you aren't beating Oregon.
Ok now. This is getting out of hand. Man up FSU. Don't quit and give up 70.
^ Thanks for your support Lake...we kept it under 60 :)
and yes, it will still be a Happy Nole Year!

Kelly was out coached, the defense played terrible. He started off the first half pretty good then went all vanilla in the second half.

Gator Nation will be fuming if Urbs gets a championship with the Buckeyes.

He wont. Ducks will walk by OSU.
Prepare for ESPN to beat "The BCS would've left both semi-final winners out of the national championship" into the ground for the next week and a half.
Atleast Alabama lost.
I wish the turnovers wouldn't have made it ugly but the Duck's were the better team.

Hahaha, it couldn't have happened to a better man. I thought Nick Satan would have an easy one this week and then get run off the field by the Ducks. I'll take it. However, I'm not to fond of Urban and OSU either, so I can't wait to see the Ducks have their way with OSU.

That's what turnovers tend to do. This season, it was FSU to benefit from the ball bouncing their way in a ton of games that they probably should have lost. It just finally caught up with them last night.
Quotebut the Duck's were the better team.
I didnt see it that way at all. I was surprised how good FSU's defense was for about 2 3/4 quarters against Oregon's offense. FSU's weak link all year has been their poor tackling (probably the worst tackling defense FSU has had in the last decade, and that's no exageration). They tackled much better up until the end when they finally quit. Take away the gimicky 'snap the ball in 10 seconds' deal, and they did really well when they were able to line up and read the plays (Oregon only ran a half dozen plays all game, they just had 3 options for every look). I was surpised that Oregon didn't have as much talent on offense or defense as their record and astronomical stats would have led you to believe.
Frankly, FSU should have been winning at halftime. FSU made a couple of stops against Oregon's offense. Oregon could not stop FSU's offense. FSU's offense unfortunately just stopped themselves. The defense would have looked much better if FSU's offense produced more points. They just gave up halfway through the third quarter when the offense had their third turnover in a row (and who could blame them).
If you looked past the stats, there was only one pro quaterback playing last night. Too bad some of the younger players didn't play up to the game. But, all year long any rational fan would have been worrying about FSU's youth at certain skill positions (I know I was). All in all, it was a really great season.. and I feel really privileged to have been able to watch a player like Jameis Winston wear an FSU uniform.
Great season by the Noles.
I'd be way more upset about last night's loss if I wasn't so optimistic about this team going forward.
Good fortune was on our side all season, and Lady Luck came looking for the receipt last night.
I wonder if Winston reconsiders entering the draft...
Winston, Eddie Goldman, Mario Edwards, and are all good as gone. Ronald Darby and PJ Williams are likely to go as well.
Hell it wouldn't surprise me if Aguayo declared. Decent chance he could be a 3rd round pick for a team desperate for a kicker.

I can assure you with absolute certainty (from personal first-hand experience) that players coached by Bobby Bowden did WAY more stupid things than Winston.
^I can vouch for fieldafm on this point!
Well, fieldafm, in the game that I watched Oregon was the vastly superior team and should have distanced themselves from FSU in the first half. In fact, they would have if Mariotta played at the level of Jameis Winston in this game. The Oregon QB missed multiple wide open receivers in the first half that would have stretched this game beyond reach before the 3d quarter.
Still, FSU gave up a Rose Bowl record 639 yards of offense and FSU gave up a Rose Bowl record 59 points. That's quite an accomplishment.
They had the singular distinction of being one of the "first four" to inaugurate the college football playoff era and they were a distant fourth among that first four at nights end after that 59-20 loss which, in truth, could have been worse. And the whole country rejoiced.
Much like our 52-20 national championship game victory over them in the Sugar Bowl, it was an ass-whippin' for the ages and left me quite satisfied. Jameis' remarkable on-field career at FSU is likely over; hopefully his outrageously bad off-field Seminole career is done as well. And please spare me, Noles, the nonsense about him never being charged. For as much as it matters, neither was Jack the Ripper. But he's an intelligent kid and I suspect he'll have a very good pro career -- presuming he can get past this upcoming civil suit and do a better job of walking the straight-and-narrow.
Lakelander, this rabid Gator was cheering for Bama last night but will be supremely happy for Urban Meyer if he's able to win another national championship. He's the best damn coach in college football, bar none, and proved it again last night.
Oregon should be very concerned. Tempo or no tempo, Urban isn't fazed by a spread offense. Because he was first a defensive coach, he knows where to look for weaknesses in any spread offense and how to exploit them. The Noles undisciplined defense caused Mariotta much trouble (I still think he's afraid of a big hit) until Dalvin Cook gloriously imploded. Mariotta will have to play much better for the Ducks to beat Ohio State.

Haha. Which is worse. A few Ducks acting like college kids or half of FSU's players walking off the field and not shaking the opposing team's hand for ending their 29 game winning streak?

Herbstreet tweeted out that he didn't care that most of the FSU players were asked to leave the field to speed up the trophy ceremony they should have gone to shake hands. I agree they should have but following an over zealous Rose Bowl crew's direction is hardly being bad sports. The Oregon coach will have those players run a few laps and it will all be good.
Urban and Chip Kelly are very close. I suspect Urban will have a very great game plan to defend their spread attack.
I think that it's gonna be an awesome championship game.

Hilarious. Alabama's entire team did the exact same thing after losing to OSU. Where is the outcry there?
That's bad too. I loved seeing Alabama throw up all over themselves too. Now I need OSU to get a beat down and it will be a great chain of playoff results for a Canes and Dolphins fan. How's that for an outcry?
I guess that the moral to the story is that defeated recent champions are sore losers. :D

What are you talking about? If it is the shaking hands BS you just have obviously not paid attention. The team was mostly sent to the locker rooms by the Rose Bowl crew to expedite the trophy ceremony. Same thing with the Alabama sideline at the end of the came their TV crew just happened to be a bit familiar with how games end didn't do the fake call out.

^Jameis was one of the few to shake hands instead of running off the field. That was mentioned live, as it was happening. The guy may not be the smartest off the field but there's little you can knock him for on it. As far as the game goes, he's a true competitor and class act.

^^^Yes, if you wanna get all precisely technical about it...I'll say that taunting someone concerning rape allegations is more harsh than ragging on someone that was stealing crab legs...
