Title: Please suggest a magical dining expierence downtown...
Post by: tyrsblade on November 11, 2014, 10:33:00 PM
taking my lovely wife to go see Mannheim Steamroller Saturday night at the Moran, She has no idea that the tickets are purchased. I would love to take her to a nice , cozy , intimate dining place before the show  and I plan on taking her to bold bean afterwards.

Come metrojax don't let me down, my default barring your recommendations is going to be indochine.

It depends on what you are including in "Downtown."  For your "cozy, nice, intimate" I'm saying 13 Gypsies...

If you want nice, cozy and intimate, make reservations at La Cena and don't look back. As long as you like Italian food you'll be more than satisfied.

Indochine is also nice, but La Cena is a hidden gem.

I would put chomp chomp in that category but I don't think anyone would else would. ;)

Indochine is good, though.

I would recommend Juliette's Bistro in the Omni Hotel for a more expensive option. Indochine is wonderful and a bit more affordable for those of us on budgets.

Been curious about Le Cena , unless there any other suggestions (13 gypsies was a great one).I'll probably go with that

I also suggest this, but NOT for a nice romantic spot. Really good food though!

Indochine is really good, good service, good price and you still get a nice atmosphere. If you have the time, The Wine Cellar across the main street bridge is very intimate:

My ideal date includes hitting up Chomp Chomp and drinking at Burro Bar, but YMMV re: what constitutes "magical."

Prepare for an extreme mismatch of quality and cost.  I would just as soon eat at Maggiano's as La Cena.  I haven't felt ripped off by any of the in-town high end restaurants (Orsay, Black Sheep, Taverna, Bistro Aix), except for La Cena.  It's really not terrible...just severely overpriced.

So, I'm dying to know: where did you end up having dinner? I truly hope your evening was perfect...it all sounded so wonderfully romantic...and such a lovely surprise for your wife! :)

Ooof sorry for the delay. We went to Le Cena, the chef was very nice and comped us some white wine to go with our diner.
They show was great and then we followed it up with a trip to Bold Bean , who happened to have a jazz band playing.
Was truly magical. She looked amazing , and her smile radiant.
