Bleh. I would've been depressed no matter who won. Although Wyllie getting as close to 5% as he did was an extra kick in the stomach. Had he hit that mark the Libertarian Party would've been recognized as a major party in Florida.

Hope all the Crist voters feel the same thing Romney voters felt two years ago. Holding your nose to vote for a guy with a terrible track record just because he is "winnable" isn't how you force change.

If the libertarian party gets 5% of registered voters to register as libertarians they get acknowledged as a major party. Might be time to change mine from NPA.

POS crook.
I can't even look at the tube when he's on. When his ads came on the radio I either turned down the volume or changed stations.
His ads were the WORST I have ever had to endure.
It was all SLIME.
Please everyone who supported him, tell your children it's ok to steal from the elderly and lie because someday you may grow up to be Governor.
And if you say he is the lesser of two evils you really need to examine your values.

And the GOP now controls the Senate. 2 more years of bad, bad government. Compromise for the GOP is my way or no way. And if the tea party gets a strong hold we will be in trouble.

It will be interesting to see how Scott governs but I think it won't be from a Tea Party perspective, rather a very pro-business Republican. I voted for Scott because the facts don't lie: Florida went from 49th in unemployment overall and highest unemployment out of the top 20 largest states (California was second worst in 2010) to the second best unemployment rate today out of the top 20 largest states. I will give that another four years instead of Charlie Crist who would sell his mother down the river for a little gain.

The Amendment 2 maps that are out (including that one) is a little misleading. It just shows what counties voted over 50% for it, but passage required 60%. Very few counties (if any) got to that.

Interesting (but not surprising) that only one coastal county in the state voted <50% for Amendment 2 and that is Collier, which probably has the most elderly in the state.

I personally cared more about Amendment 1 than everything else combined, so I'll take it.

Why does everyone cry chicken little/humpty dumpty when their team loses?

The world will go on. Its a democracy with the needed checks and balances.

In 10 years it might swing the other way.

Such is life in our constitutional republic.

Man, i just do not understand the cognitive dissonance in Florida Republicans that allowed them to energetically support this crook.  What really galls me is if a Democratic candidate had pled the 5th to stealing from the government, but was accused of abusing/defrauding food stamps or welfare instead, the GOP would have howled about it and that candidate would've stood no chance whatsoever.

Assuming you're a democrat, then you only have your party to blame. What were they thinking when they put up crist? (Also a criminal with millions of dollars in the bank). That was about as stupid as putting up Mitt Romney to be Obama, no chance of winning.
Both parties are in the gutter, and yet people keep voting for them - I don't understand it.

No reason to cry. These things tend to go in cycles. However, for those who are upset at the results, blame Miami-Dade. They only had 40% show up to vote. It's the state's  largest county by far. A better turnout there would have impacted many close races.

If the GOP wants to roll in Gubernatorial elections in the future, a candidate from Tampa/St. Pete/Lakeland/Orlando (like Putnam or Bondi) really swings votes in the area. The Putnam and Bondi maps are interesting compared to the Gubernatorial map. Scott almost pulled Hillsborough but Bondi and Putnam rolled in Central Florida. First Coast went hard to Scott, and Broward lead the way for the Dems.

I wonder if the Dems will recruit Ms. Graham after her big win to go for Governor or Senate soon since the Dems have no shining stars at this point.

I had a client tell me 4 years ago, "..and good for him if he did defraud the federal government. It's too big and corrupt anyway."

My guess is because a crook that lowers corporate taxes is going to attract new industry to his state and that equates to jobs; whereas a crook that hikes taxes is going to chase them away. As for the second part, 'If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?' Likewise if a Republican hiccups ABC, CNN, PBS, CBS, and NBC  are all over it, spinning it into a 'gross show of disrespect' or some other hogwash, even FOX is on the fence on stuff like that meaning of course, the Democratic howl's are heard immediately loud and clear, and the Republican's maybe about 5 minutes... or less.

PAINT ME THRILLED!

Yes and there still are a few voting rubes that buy the corporate giveaways are good for your state line.

Your of course wrong about the media being harder on the GOP they are always hardest on the party of the President (no matter which it is) because that is where the interest is.

Rube or Deluded Jeffery? Which are you? You are telling me that businesses don't look at the bottom line before deciding on a new location... Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Tell you what, I'll invest $100K and you can open up a business in:

ONE OF THESE:

The 10 best states in this year's Index are:
1. Wyoming
2. South Dakota
3. Nevada
4. Alaska
5. Florida
6. Montana
7. New Hampshire
8. Indiana
9. Utah
10. Texas

The absence of a major tax is a common factor among many of the top ten states. Property taxes and unemployment insurance taxes are levied in every state, but there are several states that do without one or more of the major taxes: the corporate tax, the individual income tax, or the sales tax. Wyoming, Nevada, and South Dakota have no corporate or individual income tax; Alaska has no individual income or state-level sales tax; Florida has no individual income tax; and New Hampshire and Montana have no sales tax.

But this does not mean that a state cannot rank in the top ten while still levying all the major taxes. Indiana and Utah, for example, have all the major tax types, but levy them with low rates on broad bases.

Or one of these:

The 10 lowest ranked, or worst, states in this year's Index are:
41. Iowa
42. Connecticut
43. Wisconsin
44. Ohio
45. Rhode Island
46. Vermont
47. Minnesota
48. California
49. New York
50. New Jersey

I know first hand of several major companies that are looking at Florida and possibly Jacksonville, but not one of them would be here if we ranked with that bottom group.

Read my comment I I said Believe corporate giveaways were " good for your state" not that the corporations aren't willing to put your giveaways in their pocket.

But as usually happens the corporations that took advantage of them were mostly already in the state and didn't do any additional hiring because of the policy they just got a lower tax rate.

It's the exact same situation as 7-Eleven here in Jax they were coming anyway but they were perfectly happy to take giveaways to come.

The 10 most tax friendly and 10 least tax friendly next to their 2012 GDP Rank

The 10 best states in this year's Index are (average GDP Rank 31.5):
1. Wyoming-49
2. South Dakota-46
3. Nevada-32
4. Alaska-44
5. Florida-4
6. Montana-48
7. New Hampshire-40
8. Indiana-17
9. Utah-33
10. Texas-2

The 10 lowest ranked, or worst, states in this year's Index are (average GDP rank 19.5):
41. Iowa-30
42. Connecticut-24
43. Wisconsin-21
44. Ohio-7
45. Rhode Island-45
46. Vermont-50
47. Minnesota-6
48. California-1
49. New York-3
50. New Jersey-8

Obviously a couple outliers there, but it's not surprising that places with smaller economies have to be more tax friendly to open up economic development and relocations.

Nothing is the only factor but Florida was already competitive corporate tax wise. Just wasn't really anything to be gained but to his credit Scott over the last 18 months seems to like Regan seen the errors of the tax rate and spending slashes as yielding very short limited benefits. We will see now that he has been elected again if staying on track with what's best for the state or going back to tea party donors is important to Scott.

My favorite adds were the ones that described Charlie Crist jobs record. Problem for Charlie Crist is that he had the worst US President in modern history at the helm of the National economy while he was Governor. The job losses here mirrored the National economy, in exactly the same way that Voldemort's job gains were more a result of the economy recovering with Obama at the helm. Just bad timing for Charlie. Funny how Rick Scott tried to make it appear the job gains in Florida occurred inside a vacuum.  I cannot think of one piece of legislation he enacted that
"created" jobs.
